MemoVellum: Oral History

MemoVellum is a private oral-history field studio for independent oral historians, families, educators, museums, libraries, and community archives. It brings the interview workflow together without requiring an account, a subscription, or a remote service. Prepare a question run sheet and participant record before the conversation. Capture a 48 kHz, 24-bit mono WAV master with a live level meter and timecoded field markers. Record consent, access terms, repository plans, and review status alongside the interview rather than in a separate spreadsheet. After recording, use the transcript desk to organize timecoded segments, review states, authority names, subjects, and sensitivity notes. Add local artifacts, preserve their metadata, and calculate SHA-256 checksums for fixity. The preservation desk exports a self-contained MemoVellum archive, transcript text, CSV data, checksum manifest, and a PDF collection dossier.
