Cool MentalMath App Review
I’m a fan of this app. I’ve kept a streak going for nearly 180 days now, so about half a year. (The app has glitched some days and almost removed my streak, but contacting support has fixed my streak in the past.)
I have noticed improvement in my simple math skills during this time. I have also been using Duolingo’s Math course at the same time and they both have their own benefits.
I love practicing math every day and this app has made it easier for me to just jump in with problems.
Things that I believe could be improved:
- Add an option for “streak savers”. For example, every 100 days you keep a streak up, you get a “saver” so if you forget one day then it’ll use your saver instead. This encourages more people to start streaks and maintain them.
- Add options for untimed math practice. I love the time challenges sometimes, but when I am trying to improve my math skills and failing repeatedly, a slow mode or a custom timer option or no timer at all would be nice.
- More instructions and tips for how to do math quickly in your head would be great.
Thank you to the developers of this app, I believe it is a great daily learning app and I look forward to the app improving over time even more.

Im forced to play this game against my will
Not as Advertised
I’ve earned a few badges, and have been waiting for some sort of lesson or an abacus to appear. It seems to only be times exercises of math problems for you to do. There is no teaching involved. I was excited to learn how to use an abacus, but this doesn’t seem to be the place to do that…
