Excellent Resource
As much as I love the physical copies of the Merck manuals (I have the first copy from 1899!), the online resource is ultra convenient when I want to check something on the go. I would suggest this app for just about anybody in the health professions who wants to remain knowledgeable in their field 👍🏼

Search problems with recent version
Update - The problem has been fixed in version 4.1.
The search feature has recently stopped working. It shows results, but the spinning pinwheel never finishes so you can’t select any of the results.

Pinwheel of death
I tried searching “acute pancreatitis” and got the pinwheel of death. Seriously? Yes, the app is synced and is the latest version, updated etc. Not acceptable.

My go to
This app is my go to while working in a clinic. Straight forward, no nonsense, and FREE! Also, a lot easier to use than flipping through a physical copy!
Being able to download pictures/info is also fantastic, and has been essential in my building that apparently was built as a clinic/faraday cage hybrid. Also has helped me in situations where I have been in the field with no cell service.
My only complaint/recommendation is related to the search function: it’s very precise in that if you don’t use the correct spelling, the search yields no results. If the search feature could be improved to account for spelling errors, or even related topics, that would turn this from a great app to a perfect app!

We use the videos to introduce the procedures, to students. The videos are so thorough demonstrating each procedure step by step, accompanied by pertinent narrative.
Excellent Resource! Please add an auto-citation generator!
As a student nurse, Merck Manual is my go to resource outside of what I am required to use for my classes. I often refer patients to the consumer version for further learning about disease processes. I find the visual layout more inviting to read and I really appreciate the added images & videos that are sometimes included. The information appears to also be up very to date. Only thing that is missing is an auto citation generator. That would be AWESOME!
