Unobtrusive, helpful, delightful. This app delivers on what it promises. It is merely the Bible and that is fantastic.
Distraction Free!
I really love this bible and glad I stumbled on it, it really is distraction free, helps you just focus on the Word, and props to the team behind the design interface, it’s super easy to use and easily find a particular chapter, and the search function is also designed really well and kinda great if you want to do a word study and find all the passage that match a specific search term. Can’t recommend it enough!

NeuBible has been complete revived as Mere Bible, and with marked improvements. Please keep up the good work. Let’s get those login issues resolved and I will promote this to our church.

This used to be called NeuBible and it got really buggy because of no maintenance for many years. After the recent update, it’s finally stable again!
I LOVE this app. This is how I want to read. Just me and the Bible — no streaks or endless notifications or ads or plans being shoved down your throat. It’s just you and the text in a beautiful and simple app. Finally I can delete that other Bible app!

“Mere”?
Have enjoyed using this app for many years but the new name is a terrible choice! One definition of mere suggests “insignificance”. Whoever thought it was a smart idea to change the app name to Mere clearly didn’t think it through.

3/2026 Edit: Ok, I can finally give this 5 stars again! They did a wonderful job cleaning up the app and it is still the distraction free Bible app we’ve come to love. So glad they held onto the app’s core tenant of simple Bible reading. Great job guys!!
Edit: No meaningful updates or even bug fixes since dwell bought it years ago. The iPad app freezes constantly. The iPhone app doesn’t display chapters correctly. I love dwell and have a lifetime membership. I just wish they would have cared for this beautiful app.
Definitely the best you will find. I'm so tired of all the other Bible apps and their social functions that bombard you when you open them (looking at you, YouV...ion). You won't be disappointed by this clean, fast, text-focused Bible app. Download it now!

a top 5 favorite app of all time. so simple, elegant, and useful. a bit pricey once you purchase it and esv (for me) but worth every penny. thank you.

This is a super clean app—no unnecessary additions. This app will not send you constant notifications that simply distract you from your other goals. The layout of the app is simply beautiful. A few swipes and you can search for anything. Seriously. The search is so powerful. Can’t remember a Bible verse? Type in a few keywords and you’ll have it in no time.
As for the translations they have, you get ASV BSB CEB ESV HCSB KJV NASB NET RVR1960 NVI NIV NKJV and WEB—all for free and the option of offline downloads.

Crashes
Used to be great, now crashware. Works for 5 seconds and bombs out. Jesus weeps.

Used to be my favorite Bible app but now it crashes all the time.
Used to be an amazing app until it was bought out
NeuBible has been my favorite Bible app for a long time. It’s literally what it says—the Bible—and no other wacky social features to try and prioritize your ad revenue. But since Dwell apparently bought it, it’s become basically abandonware. The highlights are sadly broken, which is a terrible fact. I have years of highlights saved on this app and as of now it looks like they’re all gone. I emailed the developers months ago about updating their translations and they said it was in the pipeline. Nevertheless, the “contact us” link on the app is now even broken.
I would pay a premium for a Bible app this well-designed and functional, especially if it had most major Bible translations and remained useful. I’d even pay a subscription!

Used to be the best
Was the best, simple, clean bible app. The most recent update broke the ability to highlight passages. “Contact Us” link within the app is broken. In the market for a new bible app. So far the front runner is “Bible Notebook”
