User reviews

UI needs improvement

It does the basic operations needed to set up a device but it needs more features and a UI appropriate for an Apple device.

Schöne App

Läuft nach dem Update besser

No network

Flashed my device to Meshcore to compare to Meshtastic. There were no other users in the very large city in Florida where I live. In addition to draining the device battery much faster than Meshtastic and not finding any other nodes or repeater’s it made it very difficult to reflash back to Meshtastic. It does not matter if it is technically better, it there are no users it is worthless. Maybe in time but not there yet.

Didn’t work for me

Attempted to pair my new Heltec V4 boards without success (five times). App would ask me to enter the pin, which I did, then gave a red warning box saying it had failed and I would need to forget the device via BLE settings. First time, I thought I had made a typo on the pin. After four more times, I’m sure it’s the App.

FAQ

What does the MeshCore app do?

The MeshCore app facilitates secure, off-grid communication by connecting to supported LoRa radio devices. It allows users to send messages to other discovered users on the same frequency without needing an internet connection or cellular service.

What are the key features of MeshCore?

Key features include secure, off-grid mesh networking, compatibility with LoRa radio devices flashed with MeshCore firmware, Bluetooth pairing with your device, custom display name settings, and the ability to discover and message other users on the network.

Is MeshCore free to use?

The app itself is free to download and use. However, it requires a compatible LoRa radio device and firmware, which are separate hardware and software components. The app description indicates it has in-app purchases, suggesting some features or functionalities might be monetized.

What hardware and software do I need to use MeshCore?

To use MeshCore, you must have a supported LoRa radio device that has been flashed with the latest MeshCore Companion Firmware. The app then pairs with this device via Bluetooth to configure its settings and enable communication.

How do I connect with other users on MeshCore?

Once your MeshCore device is paired and configured, you can advertise yourself on the network. When other devices are discovered on the same frequency, they will appear in your contacts list, allowing you to send messages to them.
