About

A simple weightlifting tracker with no subscription, streaks, opinions, usernames, nudges, algorithms, or affirmations. Try it for 30 days, then buy it for $5 with ongoing updates forever. I built Metal because the exercise apps I previously relied upon have turned into bloated garbage with dead-eyed AI coaches and greedy subscription models. Metal is simple: open a workout, see what you did last time, and do it again or a little heavier. Each set shows the weight and reps from your previous session. Tap to log a new set, long-press to adjust it, and that’s about all this thing does, aside from some handsome bar graphs and a zen rest timer. • One-tap logging. Tap a set to mark it done. Long-press to tweak things on the fly. • Last session at a glance. Every set box shows the weight and reps you did last time. Blank box = new territory. • Rest timer. See it on your lock screen. Listen for the zen bell. • Plate math. See which plates to load, including the 2.5s. • Add notes. Quickly add reminders and revelations to each exercise. • Rename freely. Exercises track by identity, not name. Rename “Squat” to “Back Squat” and it remembers its history. • Charts. See your progress (or lack thereof) over time. • Works offline, saves to your iCloud. No servers and passwords. • Optional Apple Health integration • Monthly updates. I’m perpetually fiddling with this as I use it.
