Pretty cool!
It's kinda like actually watching for meteors, since it seems to be entirely random in terms of frequency. It's been stable, no crashing out, and is great for showing kids how to look out for meteors ready for a shower!
It is, indeed, a simple, basic app which does exactly as described. Makes a good background use for iPad when doing other things - a little window onto a night sky where there are always incoming meteors!

Just sit and watch
I just wanted to sit and watch the sky, and that is exactly what this app is. You can just sit and stare at the sky and catch a glimpse of an occasional shooting star. It's very peaceful.
Good concept additions required
Its a nice concept. Didn't see a meteor yet though. Developer should add an option to play our music. Secondly add some nightly sounds like crickets or wind (unless this is meant to be in space) ad variations in the stars and add options like nebulas and planets moons etc
