What's New in MetraX

1.0.1

August 13, 2026

A fully redesigned home screen, plus smarter planning tools. • One board for all your trains: the next departure and everything after it, with live countdowns that flip each minute. Tap any train for its delay and forecast arrival. • Tomorrow's Trains: check the next service day's schedule for your trip. • The live line map now starts compact — tap to expand the full line. • New Beta Features: Late Card (verified proof your train ran late — share it) and Ride Along (follow your train live on the map). • Arrival alerts: clearer setup wording, and notifications now state the actual minutes to your stop when they fire. • Late Cards are truthful about timing: marked "Not Final" until your train actually arrives, then verified with the real arrival time and a scannable QR link.

Metra Live

Finally a reliable app to take the guess work out of “where is the train”. Great for regulars and out of town travelers.

Love this app!

This app has all the bells and whistles. It’s easy to navigate and has all the information you need front and center. Having what side of the platform the train arrives on is a great feature I haven’t found on other apps. The “alarm” you can set for your station arrival id also great-my husband could have used that when he fell asleep on the train a few years ago and woke up five stops beyond where he needed to be! Give it a try!
