Fantastic!
Great concept, too much resistance (updated review)
Edit: I love the concept of this app and want this to succeed. The move to a one off payment is great, although I feel £20 is a little steep.
I have persevered with it and ideally would love to put my AirPods in and have my iPhone pickup the stick to pad inputs. This for me hasn’t yet worked the way I imagined it would, even after going through all the settings.
Edit: I have managed to get it working as described above, you simply go into your sound and haptic settings (indicated in the app), because I was using AirPods, it was defaulting to that mic input, so needed changing with them connected. However, this means whenever I connect my AirPods it will always use my iPhone microphone, which when taking a call for example, would cause issues. It would be ideal if the app picked the input rather than the OS of the device you’re using. So for now I’m going to return to a simple metronome app, where I can just press go and get to work. I have updated my star rating to reflect my current experience.

Thanks for taking a look, and I completely understand the hesitation. I’ve actually moved away from the subscription model for this app. All of the core features are now free to use, and there is an optional one-time purchase if you want to keep a long-term history of your practice sessions. I would love for you to give it another look. I think it now lines up more with what you were expecting.
More usability from the app now
Response from developer
I understand where you’re coming from, and I appreciate you taking the time to write this out. The app is no longer subscription based. All core features are free to use with no time limit. The only paid option is a one-time purchase if you want to keep a long-term history of your practice sessions. Also, it’s not just tapping. You can play any instrument into the app, including drums, piano, or guitar, and it shows your timing in real time. If you’re open to it, I’d encourage you to give it another look.
