Dependable, consistent and great service

I have used this app for years and wrote a negative review when a recent upgrade tied the metronome app to my phone’s display and brightness settings, causing the metronome to “sleep” after a few minutes. I tossed my review off thinking that it would disappear into cyberspace and that I complaining into a vacuum.

Amazingly, the developer responded to my complaint within 24 hours! When does that ever happen? Within 48 hours, the bug was fixed.

Yes, I’ve used this app for over a decade, with my own practice, in my teaching studio and when I conduct workshops. Highly dependable, and indispensable for the working musician.

The Upgrade is a Fsil

I have used Metronome Plus for years with no problems. Always could rely on Metronome Plus to be my consistent and faithful practice companion.

This week I was “upgraded” without my knowledge or consent. The new version is horrible. It turns off after 3 minutes-hey guys- the whole point of a metronome is to be able to PRACTICE with it! And guess what, sometimes that lasts longer than three minutes.

Do not recommend.

Time signature?

Is there a way to set a 7/8 or 12/8 time ? Or 15/16?

Hi. Been away and only recently began updating the app. To your question, 12/8 could be 4 bpm with triplet subdivision. 7/8 could be 7bpm and quarter note. Just set the tempo to quarter note. If dotted-quarter = 100, then set the tempo to 100, select 7 beats per measure and select triplets as your subdivision. If it’s eighth note = 120, then set it to 40bpm and the triplet will be at 120.

Nearly perfect

This is nearly the perfect metronome. In my view the only thing it lacks is a timer feature. I get irritated having to go outside the app to set the timer for each practice exercise.

Record feature

I like all the features but would like to have the option to record with the taps.

Great for a week

It worked nicely at a rehearsal and a gig and now it is frozen and won't open. The developer should make his email address available.

Just what I need! But....

Love the app, I duel wield and use a drone on my iPad while my phone has the metronome ticking. What I would love is if the app could play the metronome at the same time as a drone so I didn't have to use two devices! Is this possible? Do we have the technology?!

Convenient and easy-to-use!

Metronome Plus meets all my practicing needs as a piano grad student. It's easy and fast to change tempos and a variety of rhythm patterns and beat groupings are available. My favorite feature is the personalized preset tempos that enable me to jump back and forth between tempos with one click. The recording tool is nice, but playback is difficult because you can't move around in the track; you have to play it from the beginning each time. The tempos go all the way down to 30 bpm, but I wish they went to 20 (slow movement of Ghost trio is about quarter = 26). Also, it would be nice if I could use the tapping feature while listening to music in another app to discern tempo, but Metronome Plus turns off any other music when you open it.

Improved with bug fix

I haven't fully tested the latest version but the big issue in the previous version that caused the metronome to produce irregular rhythms appears to have been eliminated. If that is in fact 100% gone, then this is a great metronome. Good range of tempos and single and multiple beat patterns for any tempo make it very useful and helpful.

Excellent metronome!

Easy to operate and change. Features clearly indicated and one doesn't need a degree in rocket science to figure out. Should be great for those in major music industry for recording and having certain tempos at their immediate hand. Money well-spent.

Great service/ great recorder

Wow!!! Couldn't believe how quickly Gil got back to me and tried to help me solve my problem after downloading the new update. Turns out it wasn't a problem at his end, but at mine.
And I absolutely love the updates on the recorder. I had only used the other one once and liked it, but the new one has a pause, volume indicator, & multiple recording save capability. I immediately sent a practice recording to my Uke trio. So easy!!! And I can't wait to record my steel sessions so that I can practice at home more effectively. Of course changing tempo, pattern, muting, etc. as always, is simple!
Thanks Gil for your passion to perfection and simplicity!
