### A Helper, Not a Teacher
Metta supports your practice — it does not teach you the technique.
Vipassana is learned on the cushion and, in this tradition, properly on a ten-day course. Metta will not instruct you, introduce a new method, or claim to replace a teacher, a course, or a centre. What it does is narrower and more honest: it holds the clock, protects the quiet, and keeps the record of your sittings, so nothing stands between you and the practice you already know.
If you are new to Vipassana, we would encourage you to learn from a course and a teacher rather than from an app — including this one.
