About

Find something new on a familiar street. Michikusa turns everyday walks into a map of your own. Take a different path, explore another block, and see the places you have walked fill with color. MAKE YOUR OWN MAP Start a walk to record your route and explored areas. Look back at today's outing or the neighborhoods you have discovered over time. CHOOSE YOUR NEXT DETOUR Random mode suggests a destination roughly five minutes away on foot. Explore mode looks for destinations in areas you have not recorded yet. Choose Manual or Automatic before your walk. In Manual, roll for your first detour and again after arriving. In Automatic, the app chooses the first destination and the next one after arrival. You can still roll again whenever you like. Destinations do not change on a fixed timer. LEAVE TIME TO GET BACK Choose a walk duration and Michikusa considers the walk to a candidate, the return to your starting point, and a five-minute buffer. As time runs short, returning takes priority. Your destination and full planned route stay hidden on the map, with the next direction shown as you walk. Guidance pauses when your position or direction is uncertain. Skip a suggestion or stop guidance whenever you like. CHOOSE WHETHER TO RECORD EVERYDAY TRAVEL Everyday recording is off by default. Enable it on the home screen and choose the location permission you want to allow. It saves only newly explored areas, without adding a daily trail or extra walks to your history. Your on/off choice stays in place after relaunch, and everyday recording pauses during a regular walk. KEEP YOUR DISCOVERIES Add photos and notes to places that catch your eye and save favorites. Revisit your walk's duration, distance, and newly explored areas in your history. Walk records, photos, and explored areas are stored on your iPhone. Walking-route searches use Apple's map services. Recording and suggestions depend on location accuracy, connectivity, permissions, and iOS behavior. Everyday recording uses movement estimates; it cannot identify walking perfectly and may include slow travel in a car or train. Continuous background recording is not guaranteed. Using location services consumes battery power. Routes and travel times are estimates. They do not guarantee safe passage or a return by your planned time. Follow local signs and conditions, and stop walking before checking your screen. OPTIONAL DIRECTIONS WITH THE SCREEN OFF During a walk, enable guidance notifications and allow iOS notifications to receive a direction near an upcoming turn. This is off by default. Delivery depends on location updates, iOS behavior, and notification settings. Spoken navigation is not supported.

Introducing everyday recording and a new way to follow your next detour. • Choose Manual or Automatic. Automatic picks your first destination and the next one after arrival, with the option to roll again along the way. • Keep the destination and full planned route hidden while following the next direction. Guidance pauses when your position or travel direction is uncertain. • Optional directions notifications while the screen is off. They are off by default; permission is requested only when you enable them. • Suggestions consider walking time, the return trip, remaining time, and a five-minute buffer. • Turn everyday recording on or off from Home. It remembers your choice and saves explored areas on your device without adding a daily trail or extra walks to your history. Recording, guidance, and notifications depend on location updates and iOS behavior. Perfect walking detection, continuous coverage, and notification delivery are not guaranteed.
