MichiLoop is a private motorcycle and car journal with route planning, GPS logs, photos and memories.
Ride with or without a plan; ending saves the traveled route, distance and time separately from your journal. Review or delete logs by date or plan, then add photos, video, voice notes, places and reflections when you want. Revisit journeys on the Footprint map or by vehicle distance and entry counts.
Capture photos or videos up to 60 seconds. Save photos directly or add details in journals or Spot Book; videos go to journals. Each spot holds five photos; reorder its cover. On supported iPhones, open the still-photo finder from Control Center, Action button or Lock Screen; iOS sends photos to the app inbox after unlock.
Media Studio's basic tools include crop, 90-degree rotation, straightening, brightness, video trim, mute and cover-frame time. Creator Pack is a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase for advanced color, travel filters, text and drawing/markup, plus overlays for the traveled route, saved planned-route geometry, date, place, distance, and duration. Cover Studio layers actual or planned routes over line art or a map, with an optional border. Route-bearing outputs require Creator Pack; previews and a route-hidden basic cover remain free. Plus includes Creator Pack while active.
Keep journeys separate from everyday preparation, customization and gear notes. Add budgets, expenses, fuel details and totals by currency. Scan receipts on-device and confirm fields. Walking segments can keep step counts from supported-device motion data.
Plan starts, destinations, stops, daily distance and time, arrival targets, breaks and checklists; duplicate past plans. Check weather for planned places and times. Home and widgets show the next journey and preparation; Live Activities show recording time, distance and GPS status. Separate ferries from driving distance. Import GPX points into plans or export saved plans and traveled routes.
TRAVEL CIRCLE
Invite known people one at a time through iCloud. Sharing is off by default. Choose one or more accepted recipients and review the fields before publishing; each recipient receives an independent read-only journey or plan summary. An optional plan grant adds selected places, precise coordinates and routing settings for review and saving as an independent local draft. Sharing excludes live location, traveled tracks, exact times, addresses, notes, journal text, media, expenses and receipts. Separately agreed journey links and short shared checklists leave both people's source data unchanged. Hide, block, disconnect or report; reports send only after confirmation. Revocations sync when connected. No public profiles, people search, public feed, comments or reactions.
Ride logs, journals, one-day plans, three saved plans/drafts in total, basic GPX import, one vehicle, basic editing and export are free. MichiLoop Plus is a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription for 2–14 days, a fourth plan/draft onward, KML and map links, per-leg transport, avoidance and route-candidate settings, and a second vehicle and beyond. Eligible Apple Accounts can start a 14-day annual trial; monthly has no trial. Check App Store pricing, eligibility and renewal terms before purchase. Existing plans, vehicles and journals remain viewable after cancellation.
Data stays on-device; supported data syncs to private CloudKit when iCloud is available. Budgets, expenses, receipt images and walking metrics remain on-device. Export app data and media from Settings. No MichiLoop account needed.
