No longer working
I used this app daily for many years. It worked very well. Now it doesn’t. Every now and then I reload it to see if maybe it has been fixed. But it hasn’t. It used to freeze when opening the editor, now it’s frozen as soon as I open the app. I know that this app is created by one person. I hope that he is ok..

The best midi controller on iPad for synths/samplers
I've been using this for some time to control my hardware and vst synths, samplers and effects plugins via customised XY pads and other controllers. You build your own controller and configure them to use any midi CC number you wish, they can also send multiple CCs at the same time from each individual control. To my knowledge it is the best there is on the iPad for synths and samplers, I haven't tried it as a controller my DAW, there may be better more specialised options for that. Coupled with MusicIO and using the lightning connector instead of wifi it's virtually zero latency.

Good but editor is frustrating and basic
This is a nice app and does its basic function well however there is a lot of room for improvement.
There is little documentation on how to use the app other than making a midi connection to your computer. So learning what things do is trial and error.
App support is none existent. I asked some basic questions several days ago and have had no response. For a paid app I expect better.
Creating custom layouts is a great feature, and the main reason i bought the app, however it is a frustrating process. If the developers could only add one feature to this it would be a copy and paste function. It would save a lot of time. Some other nice features to have would be an undo function, auto arranging/spacing of objects in a container, some documentation on the logic of how tabs and containers work and the option of having a different background colour or image would be good too.
Oh and a forum on the developer website where users could share their layouts would be great.

Don't let the price scare you. Nothing on here even comes close. Although there is a cheaper, less loaded package by the same developer, spend the money and go PRO.
Basic, not worth the price unless your a beginner
It looks so flash, but you can't customise anything except placement and size of objects, and adjusting size is difficult for small objects, you can,t edit the presets, can't use your own images, and midi is assign only, no relational control. In saying that though, for the basic user who just wants to throw some simple sliders and buttons together, Its fine. for true customisation of appearance use 'TB Midi Stuff', for complex midi control use 'Lemur'.

It just works
I have only used it a handful of times so far...but immediately impressed by the app. Using the reaper template with surface shows feedback in the channel displays. Will need to read the manual to work out Tracktion and Cantabile exact map pings. But it still works to control Tracktion just need to work out how to get two way comms.

Very deceiving
This app says you can create your own but has a very limited supply. If you click the Buy More function, nothing shows up most the time. I have contacted the software to try to find out how to transfer the template I have spent countless hours creating, with no response. If the template cannot be imported to another iPad, why am I wasting my time on this piece of crap? By the way, this is my second attempt at writing a review. It would not accept my last one.

This would be a 5 if I could get it to work properly in Cubase or Ableton. Been trying to get support, but no response. Better documentation needed too!

Great app! Would like to see an option to go USB straight into a computer instead of only wirelessly but other than that its fantastic!
Bad support
Loaded this, links up fine over wifi. Just cannot get it to work properly with presonus studio one. I have contacted the support but still no reply. Also a lack of a decent manual. This would have been a great help. This could be an amazing app if I could get it to work
Excellent App
The range of options are a bit limited at present but will no doubt be extended in future releases. For example, being able to set buttons to light up when toggled or even better, to make some one-of-many selectable in radio-button style would be nice. It would also be good if the buttons themselves could be labelled rather than having the labels underneath.
Personally, I would like to see the keyboard being sizable in the up and down direction and to be able to change or hide a few of the buttons that are part of it. It currently takes up just a little too much screen space for my own tastes even though it is very playable due to the ability to change key widths.
The custom-design options in the pro version are thus a bit limited in scope but what it does do, it really does very well indeed and for many users, this will already be more than they actually need. In summary, this is a quality product and well worth the modest investment.

Burn
Recently purchased original app and then upgrade came and went to page for app to check out changes and then clicked on icon and because I was already logged into apple ID it started download and then a little later I get an email about a charge for 20. +++ dollars ... This is on top of the 7 +++ dollars I already paid originally ... So, I check the app description again and say to myself okay ... More functionality etc. Then I go into the app and it still shows buy beside everything ,,, 30+++ dollars and all I get is a new interface and the ability to buy some things ... Clicked report a problem beside receipt for purchase and nothing back at all. Total burn. Who names a new program the same as the old ... Original app works as expected but new version is a total burn and really bad form on developer part.
