App Midi Control
Hi, there are a lot functions who cant control over midi. it would be nice, when more mappings available. THE SNAPSHOTS !!! snapshot 1 = midi program change 1 or something like that.
Disappointing
Should be the app we all need, but crashes frequently on my new iPad, loses snapshots, and generally fails to deliver on what it promises. It’s a great idea, but doesn’t always work.
Upgraded to new iPad
I upgraded to an iPad air 3 iPadOS 17.5.1 (21F90), and midi mixer no longer works.
Almost perfect
Midi mixer is just what is needed to automate session mixes in AUM. One thing I would like to see in an update is option to play, loop and automate file player samples as part of the mix from the mixer itself
Love it..very much needed
It s a very important app to have..i dont know any other app that can do what midimixer does...and i love it for it..
Magic mixer
For anyone using AUM on a project with many inputs, this app saves all the swiping from one end to the other by providing a compact control surface. All of which remains on screen. This works very well indeed for AUM mixing control, and automatic ion of such. Providing that you set it up from scratch. The two flaws are that it is not retrospective. In other words, you cannot apply this app to an existing project. Also, the mixer does not include direct control over FX or other loaded apps, so to get at them its still necessary to swipe.

Must have
This is a must have auv3 plugin for AUM users. Few improvements i would like to see here. Autoscroll for automation timeline and few more assignable user controls.
No sound
Load Aum. Load source. Add Midimixer -no sound. Not intuitive. Little documentation. Advised to go to YouTube channel for help.
This is a good idea for things that should be built into Aum. It is a good idea generally. I do not find this particular implementation of those ideas to be meeting my needs at this time.

Not Working
I’ve iPad pro 2020 model. I’ve purchased this midi mixer but I can’t open templates. It’s showing ias unsupported files in Files. What is the solution for it ? I’ve re-installed multiple times, restarted IPad also but nothing worked to start using.

This is an add-on program for AUM. You need to have AUM installed as explained on the App Store information page. These templates are then loaded into AUM and MidiMixer is loaded as part of that process.
Great in theory, lacking in execution
This app is a fantastic idea for working in AUM and adding a bit of song mode style timeline action. Unfortunately, like other 4pockets apps, it’s dropping the ball in some serious ways.
1. There’s no way to easily scale or edit drawn automation. If you weren’t exactly on point, you need to redo the entire thing.
2. While there is a snap to beat with the line tool, there is none for the paint tool.
3. The zoom in for the height of the automation window is nowhere near enough. There is a similar problem in the developer’s multitrack app, too.
4. It’s still glitchy. I’ve already had multiple instances where AUM doesn’t respond to faders or the mute state from the mixer. The mixer will show mute as active but AUM won’t read it, then I have to double tap it on the app to try and get it to reset.
I really want to like this app. It’s much easier, in theory, then using something like Xequence (although that’s more flexible) to control automation in AUM. Let’s hope these issues get addressed.

Response from developer
MidiMixer only works one way, as a remote control for AUM. AUM does not report changes of Mute/Solo/Fader etc. to MidiMixer. My guess is that you changed some settings in AUM such as fader / mute and that wasn't reflected in MidiMixer. The idea behind MidiMixer is to record all your automations for your song and have MidiMixer play them back in sync with the host timeline. This way everything remains in sync. If you are simply using it to duplicate the functionality of AUM then you need to remember to make mixing changes in MidiMixer only.

2 days before you released this I bought a midi fader/mixer board. Hahah ironic since I literally configured it in such a way that it would behave JUST like midi mixer. I felt a bit cheated out if my money once this was released for iOS!
Please, I do have one request though.... and it’s a “global” request for all your apps, could you add rotary knob support? I can never dial with precision on 4pocket dials because I hate horizontal and vertical knobs. They feel very unintuitive to me!
I really hope you can consider this as an option for your AUs, it would make them incredibly more friendly to use to the ones that are like me and hate vertical and horizontal knobs.
I do have a few ideas for DigiStix, probably my most used app by you, but I will email them eventually... 😊

If you use AUM then you need this app.
It just makes life so much easier when putting together a track in AUM. Paul the MusicMan ( the developer) and Doug Woods of thesoundtestroom have both posted YouTube videos demonstrating this app, so if doubt take a look at those, then buy it.
