About

Migraine Logger turns your iPhone into a private migraine diary that actually helps you find what triggers your attacks — and gives your neurologist the data they need. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS No accounts. No ads. No third-party SDKs. No analytics. Everything you log lives on your iPhone and your private iCloud, end-to-end encrypted by Apple. We never see it. The optional AI features run only when you tap "Analyse" with your own API key — your data goes directly from your device to the AI provider, not through us. WHAT YOU CAN TRACK • Migraine attacks — start time, intensity (1-10), pain location on a 3-view body map, type, triggers, aura symptoms, prodrome signs • Medications taken, with timing and effectiveness rating • Daily wellbeing — sleep, stress, mood, hydration, caffeine, alcohol, exercise, mineral water (Maden Suyu) intake for magnesium tracking • Optional menstrual cycle phase (HealthKit) • Free-text notes, voice notes during attacks (on-device transcription) PERSONAL RISK ENGINE A local risk engine analyses 25+ factors every day: • Barometric pressure trend (Open-Meteo, free) • Sleep duration and consistency from HealthKit • Heart-rate variability and resting heart rate • Caffeine withdrawal patterns • Menstrual cycle phase • Magnesium intake from mineral water • Sustained loud-environment exposure (Apple Health Noise data) • Weekday patterns from your own history The engine ships with literature-anchored priors, then learns from YOUR data. Factors that don't matter for you fade; factors that do get amplified. OPTIONAL AI INSIGHTS (BRING YOUR OWN KEY) If you provide an API key for Claude, GPT-4o, or Gemini, the app can: • Generate a personalised daily forecast explaining today's risk • Run deep pattern analysis across your last 60-90 days • Auto-tune your risk weights weekly based on your actual attack history Your key is stored in the iOS Keychain. Disable any time. DOCTOR-READY PDF REPORTS Export a 30 / 60 / 90 / 180 / 365-day clinical report with: • Summary stats and weekly attack frequency chart • Trigger correlation analysis with confidence levels • Medication effectiveness, timing, and time-to-relief • AI pattern analysis (if you've run any) • Complete attack log with notes • MOH (medication overuse) risk dashboard • Episodic vs chronic pattern flag (ICHD-3 criteria) CALM MODE FOR DURING ATTACKS One tap dims the screen, kills animations, and exposes only: • Big monospaced timer • "End attack" button • Voice note (on-device speech recognition — no cloud) Designed for use mid-photophobia, when typing is hard. PROACTIVE ALERTS • Daily check-in reminder at your chosen time • Pressure-drop alerts when local barometric pressure falls • Loud-environment notifications when Apple Health logs sustained noise • All opt-in, all toggleable in Settings PRIVACY-FIRST ARCHITECTURE • HealthKit reads are opt-in (sleep, HRV, exercise, menstrual) • HealthKit writes are opt-in and OFF by default • Background location is opt-in only, with a "why we ask" explainer shown before any iOS prompt • AI key storage uses iOS Keychain • No analytics, no crash reports sent to us, no third-party tracking NOT MEDICAL ADVICE Migraine Logger is informational, not diagnostic. Risk scores, MOH warnings, and chronic-pattern flags are educational signals to discuss with a qualified healthcare professional. The literature backing the risk engine is documented at https://migrainetracker.github.io/migrainetrackerapp/ LANGUAGES English, Turkish (Türkçe). UI follows your iOS language by default. PRICING Free. No in-app purchases, no subscription. AI features require your own API key from the provider of your choice (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) — typically pennies per month.
