Sleek app

This app looks amazing and is feature packed at a great price. I have been testing it against mileIQ and Everlance as I have recently started a new job with a lot more business mileage and needed an app to help me track those work related miles. Magica is a much better price but could improve a little bit in the ease of classification of trips to be more like Everlance and MileIQ’s swipe to classify feature. I emailed the app creator and gave him my thoughts. He was amazingly responsive, asked some questions to better understand my feedback and immediately went about trying to develop some improvements based on some of that feedback. I’ll continue to use Magica and hope to see the improvements in convenient trip classification soon! Thanks Dimitri for making this app and trying to meet the needs of your customers!

This is the best drive tracking app. It’s fully featured, gives you multiple ways to track your drive, you can track multiple vehicles in your garage, and it’s easy to setup and use. It’s also affordable. Great application and thank you to the developer👍

Perfect for EV’s

This is the only mileage tracker that works with EVs. The refill/recharge supports EV charging so you can track easily when you need to recharge again. The reporting is very clear, supports maintenance records and multiple vehicles.

Constant GPS use

Always-on GPS. I have automated tracking on when I connect to Bluetooth, so the app should not be tracking my movement when it’s not connected to my car. It’s almost always reporting my location—privacy issues aside, this is a massive drain on the battery. There is no reason it should be requesting my location, yet it is. I purchased this app because it seemed well-suited for my purposes but I cannot recommend this app.

Unfortunately, due to a long-standing iOS limitation, apps that rely on automatic Bluetooth audio detection must keep location services enabled. This behavior is imposed by Apple, and all apps on the App Store that offer similar functionality work in the same way, even when the car is not connected. That said, if you use a Bluetooth BLE device instead, Magica can automatically stop location services when you’re not driving, which significantly reduces tracking and battery impact. We take battery optimization very seriously: Magica has been actively maintained for over 8 years and is designed to minimize consumption as much as iOS allows. Une application très complète et bon marché avec une ergonomie un peu touffue.

Très bonne application malgré une présentation et une organisation des données assez brouillonne. Il faut du temps pour en saisir toutes les fonctionnalités. Quant au prix, il est fort raisonnable dans le cadre d’un achat unique, surtout en cas d’offre promotionnelle.

Needs better documentation but great app

Still testing but changing my review. I have used a few of these trackers, last one was “Drivers Note” and they were highly expensive and decided to again increase their yearly price. My car uses CarPlay so does not track a trip via Bluetooth and this is the first app that works with CarPlay and so far has been great, even has a widget for the CarPlay stereo! The cost is good, all the options appear to be there and importantly, it just offers reliable simple tracking of trips for tax without a stupidly high cost. Will be investing in the lifetime sub if it keeps working as it has.

Love it but data lost

Je le mets en automatique et il m’enregistre tout les voyages.

Il pourrait être programmé un période ou les voyages
Sont enregistrés par exemple du lundi au vendredi soir.

L’export des données pourrait se faire directement sous Excel.
L’export sous CSV, c’est toujours un peu laborieux.

Awesome tracking app

I bought the lifetime sub after using the trial week to replace another app which did not automatically log my travels, nor was it EV-friendly. I love that it’s also Apple CarPlay compatible.

Dimitri is great about responding to bug reports, feature requests, and is working hard to improve the app and add new functions all the time!

The latest update (custom CSV) is exactly what I needed.

Great App!

This app is great. Once set up with Apple Shortcuts, the trip logging will start when connected to CarPlay. CarPlay fires up, asks if you want to log the trip, and even categorize it! Amazing. And yes it does the other stuff the GPS based app do as well. I have also engaged tech support with questions and suggestions, and they are very responsive.

Used to be great

Ugh. I used this app solely for my side business to track trips using manual mode in car play. After the latest update, it is forcing me to turn location tracking always on. So now I need to nope right out of the app and find a new one.

Almost There

Very good app, tracks mileage well! To get to 5 stars the support page link would have to land an english site and the currency/number formats matched the country’s currency/number format, for example 1.300,00 in Canada is 1,300.00, its very awkward for users that are not familiar with the various formats. Lastly the tags were a bit easier to assign when you have more than two, time consuming when you have multiple clients/jobs to assign.

Loving the new refuelling panel

I recently bought my first EV-Electric Vehicle, and started using Magica daily to compare its autonomy and costs with that of my previous car.

I'm loving the reports and insights that the app generates about my way of driving.

And this latest update of the app solved its biggest problem: the previous recharge screen was a little confusing. The new one is simple and clear: thumbs up for you guys!!!

Love this app!

I use this app with CarPlay everyday. I never write reviews, but this is the best mileage app, reasonably priced and is easy to use. I highly recommend it, as it the most functional app on my phone.

Faulty odometer reading

Really slick app that integrates with CarPlay to get really detailed stats. Only issue I have is the odometer reading is off. For some reason the app keeps adding 14000 miles to my odometer after a refueling and I’m not sure why.

Does almost everything

I haven’t found a mileage tracking app as well designed and as polished as this one. Huge thank you to the developer. There is one problem though, when using CarPlay, it seems to force an active trip no matter how many times I try to enable manual mode. Otherwise, it’s fantastic. I like the LiveActivites integration and detailed trip screens, they are very nice touches

Great and complete app

I used many mileage tracker apps but this is the best one.
You can add the data manually or have it all done automatically.
Lots of statistics that can be downloaded in any format.
