No Instructions, and App Gives Wrong Mileage

Yeah…the app gives inaccurate mileage. When I’m sitting still, it has me moving. It tracked a walk that was barely a mile as 4.2.

And looking at the App Store info, I see that I’m supposed to be seeing a map on my screen. I’m just seeing incoherent squiggles.

I want to be able to use this app to track walks without having an Apple Watch, but it doesn’t seem to be working for me.

No sync

Same problems described by other reviewer. No map in Uk and error message when trying to sync route to account.

There’s an offer to subscribe, but no indication if app is even supported anymore...

Not so good

The map detail never loads (uk). When you save a route you’ve done the app crashes

Not functional.

Not functional. The app does not allow you to automatically import routes from gmap-pedometer, you have to manually type in the name of each individual route, and even then it doesn’t import it, it just goes back to the field and asks you to retype the name.

Great app full of bugs

Just love this app and purchased it a second time... now it has a ton of bugs. I really hope the fixes come soon.

Quits on me too frequentlly

You need to fix the apparent problems this has with iOS 11.4. This quits on me when pausing, resuming and tonight I stoped recording and it quit. When I reopened it, tonights walk was gone.

Excited then disappointed

I was excited to track my runs that I create on gmap-pedometer, but 5 miles into an 11-mile run, the app stopped tracking that run without saving the progress. I had to import it again to get directions, but it didn't have a record of my 5 miles. Would be nice if it had the option to keep the device awake with a map and even directions. Not what I was hoping for.

Response from developer

I'm really sorry to hear about this! The app should keep tracking even if you lock your phone, and the route should always be tracking. Not keeping the screen awake was an intentional choice to avoid draining the battery, but we could revisit (perhaps connected to a setting.) I'll look in the logs to see if there's anything I can find to help with the problem you had.

Can't create an account and no "contact us" information

Was really excited about this app as I use gmaps pedometer to plan my running and cycling routes but can't take them with me because there was no app/phone integration so would have to do it the old fashioned way and just remember the directions.

This app seemed to solve this but when I went to create an account (I tried every possible browser) the "captcha" API must be broken (you know the thing that confirms you're not a robot), making it impossible to create an account.

I was hoping I could email someone to let them know, but alas you need to login to contact them (huh?).

My last resort is I hope they see this review and fix it.

Response from developer

Hi, really sorry I let this bug slip through. I'll start working on it right away, and edit this reply when there's a fix for you to try. In the meantime, you can load in a route by tapping the icon on the map screen showing the logo with a down arrow, then entering the ID of the route. It will then show the route you you've created superimposed on the map. -- Update 10/10/17: just wanted to let yo know that I've upgraded to the modern captcha from Google and this problem should be resolved. Please reach out at admin@gmap-pedometer.com if you continue to have a problem.
