I absolutely love this app and following these local impactors. Milkywire makes it possible to find these real people that are making a change in the world and also for me to help donate to the right person, following their journey and see what they are doing. Finally an app that makes a change and exist for a good purpose!

Good people doing good things
I love MilkyWire! It’s a great to learn about people working in the field doing awesome work for animals and the environment. You get to watch and learn - great projects with fascinating animals in awesome places! It’s never boring. It’s like watching NatGeo but you get to do something too.
Supporting grassroots projects!
I love this app as it is changing the way I look at philanthropy and giving! I love the fact that I can transparently see how my money is contributing to the goals of the individual impacters. This is quite different than giving to large NGO’s where you never really know where the money is going. I like the diversity in both where impacters are from and the fact that their work encompasses everything from wildlife conservation to climate change. Really excited to see how my contribution will make a difference.

Love this!
Had a resolution to be more charitable and give more this year (especially to environmental and wildlife causes with all the negative changes to our planet), and wanted to find smaller organizations who likely needed it more than the big traditional ones.
But probs like for everyone else it started to become a tiring task due to the effort of having to research where my money was going to go to, who needed most help etc.
However in doing this I randomly stumbled across the Milkywire app, and it honestly feels like one of those ideas you’re surprised hasn’t already happened. Really easy to find and learn more about different people doing good around the world, pretty easy to set up payments to them if you want, and I love the fact you get video updates etc from them- reassures you it’s going to good use, and feels nice to know and see you’re making a difference.
Highly recommend.

Finally a way to support the people who are really making a change!
I love this product - finally an app made for good purposes and focused on our planet! I am able to learn more about the UN goals as well as what people are doing to address these. Instead of giving money to a large charity, where I don’t know where the money goes, I can here follow the people who are making a difference in their local communities and choose whom I want to support. I can then see how my contribution is put in good use and rally people around the same cause. Also, just spending time following these impactors are far more rewarding to me than following random people on other platforms......so even if you don’t want to spend money I recommend spending time here - it’s rewarding!
As a bonus, everyone in the family has chosen one person to follow and support making your product a great way to talk about the environment with my kids as well. Thank you for making it easy, safe and fun to help the environment via local impactors!

Make an impact!
Never used an app quite like Milkywire. It’s kind of Instagram mixed with Kickstarter - a super easy way to find and donate directly to people who are literally saving the world. Those people you normally would hear or read about and think - “That’s awesome. Their work seems really important. Good for them.” - before dropping off into another click-hole about the lifestyle-blogging pets of celebrities. With Milkywire, you can get closer to these impacters and follow their efforts through regular updates straight from the field.
Milkywire is new, but you can clearly see the potential. Most big charity is so old-fashioned and inefficient. As Milkywire grows, you can imagine it changing how people “do charity” and how we give back to the causes that are important to us.

Amazing! This is absolutely going to change the face of giving. I love this company’s mission, and how they are disrupting a broken donation system by connecting users directly with people and organizations in a most seamless way! THANK YOU FOR THE INCREDIBLE WORK YOU ARE DOING!

This app does not help you find local charities, it just lists some random people and asks you to pay them money. I was expecting that the app would be about finding volunteer opportunities, but it just asks for money. The design of the app is not very professional, and I think it’s all a scam. Also, it seems even more unreliable because you are donating to people and not organizations. It could be a great way to support charities, but most likely, it’s all fake.
