Pretty, but too much friction.

Setup was easy, but it’s no fun to need an app to start the clock. I would love to see a Siri integration, or quick menu options to start the clock from the home screen, or a widget, or even to have the app open to the page that starts the clock. The ability to program the clock to start different timers based on the number of button presses would be great.

If I am in the mode where I need something like this to get tasks done, the last thing I want is a bunch of distracting charts and graphs to play with instead.

Thank you for such thoughtful feedback! You're right that the app should let you start the timer quickly, not pull you away from your focus. When we first built the app, we put a lot of emphasis on data visualization, which is why the charts ended up taking over the main screen. Your suggestions for a faster start, including widgets, Siri, and button shortcuts, are really helpful, and we'll take them into account as we improve the app.

Confusing

This app is a total mess. Not intuitive to use at all. Kicks me off and then says won’t let me log back in. The physical timer itself is pretty cool and has promise, but since you can’t use it without the app, it’s useless.

Need Chinese 需要中文版 :)

The process of registering and finding devices went smoothly for me, so it seems like the registration issues mentioned in earlier reviews have likely been fixed. I have some prior experience in this field, so I found the user guidance and overall design to be fairly reasonable. However, for a beginner with no concept of goal-setting, GTD time block management, habit-building plans, or Pomodoro timers, the app and device might feel a bit overwhelming. They might be confused by the features. It could be helpful to add more beginner-friendly guides or additional tutorials when signing up. Additionally, the localization could be improved. I selected English, but some parts of the interface still display in Korean. Many Chinese users would also like to use the app, so I hope a Chinese version can be provided soon. Overall, I really like the concept of combining hardware and software, and I appreciate that the app has kept a minimalist approach. I look forward to future improvements! I’m giving it five stars.

- update after a few times of use
The app consistently asks me to log in again, whether it’s after my screen sleeps, switching to another app, or for other random reasons. It is really inconvenient to have to enter my username and password each time, and it disrupts my Pomodoro sessions. The only way to ensure I don’t get logged out is to keep my phone screen on and stay within the app at all times, which is not practical.

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review, and for the five stars! We're sorry for our late reply. The frequent login issue you described has been fixed in our latest update, along with several network-related problems. Please update to the latest version, and you should no longer be logged out during your Pomodoro sessions. We're also happy to share that the app now supports both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Thank you as well for pointing out the Korean text still appearing in the English interface, and for your suggestion about beginner-friendly guides. We'll take both into account as we keep improving the app. We really appreciate your support for our hardware-and-software concept. Thank you!

Simply doesn’t work

I have the timer which this connects to but the app doesn’t load to update any settings I’d like. So I am now stuck with a 10 min timer and. Nothing else.
I’ve deleted the app and reloaded with same results. I guess I await a fix.

It keeps logging out

When I open the app it said check my network connection and every time I open it I need to re logging in again. So annoying

Difficult to use and only allows one user per $75 timer

Counter intuitive app UI and timer is way too pricey to be limited to one device registration per timer. Wanted to share with my partner so they could help me and or use it for themselves

Response from developer

It may be disappointing to use it as a shared timer. We recommend use our timer for your own unique goals, rather than sharing it with others, It will help you track your concentration time, explore your flow, increase your concentration time, and improve your habits. Although there is the minee 3, we have developed minee 4 because we think it’s important to track the timer usuage for a user’s unique goal. Minee 4 is a timer to collect one’s concentration habits. We have considered to put additional functions like changing subject, to-do list, and memo. but they were excluded in the final version, because it could be distracting for users to adjust those things. We thought that adding too many features would distract users from using minee for tracking activities flawlessly.

Unusable

App consistently locks up on splash screen after first use going through ‘sign up’ / ‘continue with’ work flow.
