About

Minimalistic Tabata is an interval timer that does one thing properly: it counts, and it gets out of your way. No account. No ads. No tracking. No subscription. No data ever leaves your phone. BUILT AROUND ONE IDEA Most timers drift. They count ticks, so the moment you lock your phone or switch apps, the numbers quietly go wrong. This one reads the actual clock instead. Lock the screen mid-round, take a call, put the phone in your pocket — come back and the timer is exactly where it should be. Every gong still lands on time. WHAT YOU GET • Full Tabata and HIIT structure — warm-up, work, rest, rounds, sets with a longer break between them, and a cool-down. Any phase you set to zero simply disappears. • Two presets to start from: Classic Tabata (20 seconds on, 10 off, 8 rounds) and HIIT 40/20. Build and save as many of your own as you like. • A colour-coded countdown ring that empties as the phase runs down, so you know where you are without reading anything. • Warm singing-bowl gongs at every phase change, a soft tick for the last three seconds, and a distinct gong when you're done. • Your music keeps playing. The gongs mix over Spotify, Apple Music, podcasts and audiobooks rather than taking over playback. If you want, they briefly duck the volume; if you don't, turn it off. • Lock Screen Live Activity — the countdown continues on your Lock Screen, so the phone can lie face up on the mat while you work. • Subtle haptics on phase changes, in case you're training with headphones in a noisy gym. • A training history heatmap, the way a contribution graph works: one square per day, a year at a glance. • Five ring themes, and proper light and dark modes. • iPhone and iPad. PRIVACY, PLAINLY The app has no servers, because we don't run any. It contains no analytics, no advertising frameworks, no crash reporters and no third-party code of any kind. Your routines, settings and history are stored on your device and nowhere else. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to opt out of. Built by someone who just wanted a timer that doesn't nag.
