The Best
Simply the best music player for local files I’ve found—and I’ve tried quite a few. There are a few minor, technical frustrations, but very understandable for a single-person developer. Two that come to mind are (a) a crash when dealing with the collection menus, and (b) the last.fm scrobbling feature does not have an offline log that I can figure out, so if you listen without wifi or cellular, those scrobbles are gone, unfortunately. Would be nice to see this feature!
Quick tip for other users: Use Opus! It becomes transparent at much lower bitrates than mp3, ogg vorbis, &c.

Thanks for the kind review. Please contact me at info@plastaq.com and I’ll try to figure out your collection crash.
Great App
The app feels quite nice, it would be nice to be able it to pull from a local dnla server to bypass the stupid apple devices path altogether. One thing that is missing is a CarPlay 👍 I found a few bugs that are quite critical to having a great experience. The random button does not work. It will play the original track that you selected many times. If you click on a track within an album and hit random to play the album in a different order the tracks will play like 5>9>5>7>7>5>5>5>2. Secondly the queue next button doesn’t work as it will insert the track in a random place in the queue. I really like this app but these features are quite essential for me so it’s important that they function.

Random just plays random items from the play queue. If you want to shuffle an album use the shuffle button on the album page.

No Playlists
Really good player but not having the ability to make playlists is a huge dealbreaker
Response from developer
Playlists are called collections in the app and have all the functionality of playlists and more, including sophisticated smart collections.
good player, bad importing
seems like a good player, it’s just that whenever i import any music, the player makes the artwork of all of them VERY low quality, and that’s just a big gripe for me. otherwise id be using this all the time
Response from developer
The artwork is shown at full resolution on the album page and the full screen view. The app imports all your art at full resolution and doesn’t alter it in any way.
