Mission Moon Companion

Mission Moon Companion supports the Mission Moon STEM program developed for the Iowa Space Grant Consortium. The app brings together four key tools for facilitators and students. Suit Metrics monitors oxygen, water, and battery levels for five mission specialists. Random malfunctions trigger rapid decreases that the Safety Specialist must address by correctly answering a lunar knowledge question before resetting the affected metric. Lunar Mineral Scanner uses the iPad camera to scan QR codes on regolith tiles, instantly identifying mineral composition and indicating whether a tile matches your team's required mixture. Results are read aloud automatically. Press Conference composites students against the official Mission Moon background in real time using the iPad camera, with an animated moon graphic overlay. Recordings save automatically to Photos. Badge Creator (requires Facilitator Mode and iPad Air M2 or iPad Pro M4 or later) generates personalized astronaut badges for students using Apple Intelligence, formatted for printing on 3×5 thermal label printers.
