Mistico: $4.99: Scam or Joke?
The FULL GAME walkthrough is 12 MINUTES! That’s not a game, that’s a prelude. 12 minutes is an opening. ESPECIALLY with the intentional cheater brand name, the intentional name recognition with gamers designed to deceive you into thinking this game is going to be like “Myst.”
For perspective: when “The Room” came out it was free. A year later, they started charging $1. “The Room 2” $1.99. “The Room 4,” “Forever Lost 1-3,” “House of Da Vinci 1-3,” “The Witness,” are $4.99 games.
I don’t even know who to be mad at. The designer for charging $4.99? Or Apple for allowing it? I’m shocked that there was no one at Apple whose job is to vet games before they go up on the store, that said: charging $5 for THIS would, not only make the game feel incomplete, but it would be a poor reflection on us as a company & would leave our customers feeling ripped off.
Too Short given the price
Decent little game
Would have preferred the game to be a bit longer and to have a hints section along with a camera facility for recording important findings.
Certainly worth a go as long as you don’t pay too much for it.

Sad to read you didn’t enjoy my game. I make every effort to create the best experience possible. If you have suggestions you can reach me here: chris@m9games.co.uk
Fabulous 🤩
Response from developer
Thank you so much for your kind words and continued support! It's amazing to hear that you've enjoyed my games and that you appreciate the effort that goes into making them. Although I mainly create 3D adventures these days, maybe in the future I might use all my new experience to create a brand new 2D point and click adventure... stay tuned!
Not up to par with competitors
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback, the work and effort that goes into these game is indeed enormous and more people working on a project would be hugely beneficial, sadly these people will need paying and funds just don't allow that at this time. Thanks again for trying :)
Inital Review
I'm not ready to give up on the game yet... but need to be able to save and exit the game without resorting to a FORCE QUIT.
Response from developer
Option-Return should toggle fullscreen mode, I do have a new version of Mistico in the works that fixes this problem with a proper Home button with auto save. Stay tuned!
Atmosphere yes, story and puzzles leave you wanting
This offers a high level of immersion and foreboding (feels similar to great titles like Meridian 157, Adventure Beyond Time) that isn't quite fully realized with the story progression.
The puzzles are pretty run-of-the-mill, with an over-reliance on figuring out safe combinations.
Hoping for greater variety and depth in future titles.
Response from developer
Thanks for the encouraging feedback. To be even be considered in the ballpark of those other great titles is really amazing. Thanks again for trying my game!
Fun Adventure Game
Response from developer
Thanks for the review of my game! In all future games the code boxes have clear lights or screens indicating what's going on so your wish has already been implemented! :) Thanks again for playing and taking the time to leave a positive review, it means a lot!
Need a hint
“Illustrations of plane might help”???
fun but glitchy
Response from developer
Really glad you enjoyed the adventure! To jump out of full screen you can either press "Option + Return" or move your mouse to the top of the screen and press the green button to enter windowed mode. Thanks again for playing!
Good but short

A slight overshare of your bowel movements, but thank's for playing my game!
Avoids the hidden object annoyance

Nice Game
Response from developer
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed the adventure :)
Very short for a paid game
Response from developer
Thanks for the review. I do try to pack in as much as I can but with graphics, sound, puzzle design, programming etc the task for a solo developer along with putting food on the table is a huge one. I do really enjoy it though so I will continue to develop greater games as I go along. Thanks again for playing!
Pretty good
Not very long but quite good all round, would love to see more puzzles included and a bit longer but I think this is a single person developer so pretty impressive really.
Look forward to more in the future
Response from developer
Thanks for coming back and giving MISTICO another try! Hopefully going forward all my games will be much longer, as I develop more of what you are looking for in a good adventure! Take care :)
Not too bad, but a bit short
As for the puzzles, it would be nice to see more inventory based puzzles and fewer puzzles where codes need to be figured out in order to proceed. Also, some areas on the screen can easily be missed, particularly one area near the end where you need to tap on the far left side of the screen.
These are just suggestions, and I hope that the developer will consider them in future games.
Response from developer
Hi there, thanks for playing my game. The length of the game is based on the average player time, some people spend days pondering the puzzles, other try to race through in record time. So getting the balance right can be difficult. Also considering the development time for a solo developer, I don't want to be spending years adding more and more content with zero income, I have to make a judgement call on when a game is ready for launch. Thanks for playing and I will definitely take your suggestions of more inventory based puzzles into consideration in the future! Many thanks.

Early days
It seems basic though and I am hoping this improves with greater challenges. I will review when I have played the game fully.
