MIT Sloan Management Review User Reviews

Unable to log in.

I subscribed months ago, but at some point got logged out and have been unable to log in since! I kept hoping it would be fixed, but I’m still waiting which means I’ve wasted money on a subscription!

Much improved

The app has been revamped recently and is significantly better than it used to be in terms of usability and design.

much improved

The content has always been good — the reading and navigating experience in this refreshed app is vastly better.

Thought-provoking content in an iPad-friendly format

MIT Sloan Management Review’s articles always give me new insight into complex business, technological, and corporate + cultural topics. Typically I read them on the web or in print, but with his new app, I’m loving having them in an iPad friendly format. Navigation and organization are clean and I can find my articles quickly. Fantastic job on the new app!

So much more engaging!

Love this app - it’s so easy to find what I want or just browse, and graphically, it’s a much more enjoyable experience than both the previous version and other publications I read regularly

Nicely done!

Nice app - love the charts and graphs.

Great improvement but still needs work

Great improvement over previous versions of this app but still needs more.
How about letting me change the font size?

All one star reviews are correct

Pretty much all one star reviews are correct. I could not even imagine such bad experience is possible in 2023 from MIT Sloan. The only way to use digital subscription is through the browser, the app is simply not usable.

Unable to Perform Basic Functionality

I can’t log in through the app because it tells me that my email is invalid, which is both a cryptic and unhelpful message.

I now use a browser on my phone to log in and read MIT SMR articles. Embarrassing!

Hilariously bad

One would expect a cutting edge tech university to steady have a passable and usable app. This is laughably bad, really bad UI and on top of that the sign in function doesn’t work. Maybe the people responsible for this app need to read some of the articles they themselves publish. Ridiculous.

Not worth it (app)

The app still doesn’t work. It crashes constantly and if it doesn’t crash, it just shows a list of articles but you can’t read them.

Don’t subscribe - Kindle edition 100 times better

As someone who has subscribed to the Kindle version of the management review and recently switched to the direct management review digital version, after experiencing the app now for a few days I would highly recommend everyone use the Kindle subscription over this app.

The biggest issues:
-Navigation buttons disappear based on interactions
-The log in experience is broke and despite being logged into the app my content does not display
- I had to email support to get them to register my account in the app - for the technology review app this was automated

I am also a subscriber of the digital version of the MIT technology review - whose app experience and design is so far ahead of the management review it’s laughable. The fact an institution like MIT is willing to put their name on such a half baked app for the management review vs the technology review is shameful. Do better, or, at the very least replicate the experience of the technology review app. #wantmymoneyback

Much better

My first review was a one star. I don’t know what changed in the last 2 weeks but the app works properly now. Thanks to all.

Just started using it and I can browse magazines and read articles without trouble.

Login didn't work

Despite several emails reporting the issue, the help desk team gave up: “Report the issue to the developers team”.

Just shameful...

Looks cheap. Purchased the subscription and still seeing the ads

Purchased the subscription and paid with Apple In App Purchase. But I still see the subscription box that blocks the view.

App looks cheap. It looks like they just put their website into a mobile form. HBR looks way better.

Love the content but the app is a crap

Compare to other major publications apps, MIT should be ashamed to allow such low operational quality of its app. Come on, you are MIT, and couldn’t even get an app right!

Embarrassing

Hands down a shamefully inconsistent and unreliable app. Turning the iPad leads to a white screen and, best case, spinning icons. Has MIT run out of computer science majors?

This app needs a complete rewrite

Here is the optimistic perspective—this app
has only one way to go—UP!! I was hoping this Jan/Feb 2022 update would fix the many issues with this app, but it didn’t. It keeps asking for my email and never accepts it. Navigation isn’t intuitive (eg going back to past issues), needs so much work.

I’ll be thrilled if they get a pro app developer who actually knows how to develop good apps with great UX and a super UI. One that can store the articles on the device for offline access that actually works (and not just for the current issue). It needs great Boolean search capabilities, highlighting and bookmarking and so much more. If I would have know the app was this bad I would never have subscribed.

Worst app in syncing with your subscription

Your App can’t sync with my subscription. Can you look into this? I could see from different reviews that since 4 years ago, this sync issue has been pending.
