This app gave me the confidence to run a Multicam studio solo, and it’s absolutely amazing how much functionality I can get out of the Atem Mini Pro ISO with this app at the helm. Thanks so much Adam for making this app and bringing broadcast capabilities to the humble masses.

It’s almost 2026 and I left a comment in the subreddit about a problem I was having with the software and the creator got back to me in less than 24 hours to fix my problem. I mean if that isn’t dedication I don’t know what is. I’m truly grateful that this industry has so many awesome creators like Adam Tow.

Worth every penny!
Every ATEM owner could benefit from MixEffect, but *especially* those with SuperSource capable ATEMs! This app makes SuperSource soar to incredible heights I didn’t dream I would be getting when I bought my ATEM.
It works very well on Apple Silicon Macs, which frees up my iOS devices for other tasks. So kudos for that!
It also has an excellent Bitfocus Companion module that I have grown to love and utilize every time I use my ATEM.
Finally… the developer should teach a class on app documentation! We have no excuses for not knowing about all of its features. :-)

Not worth it
Most features are locked behind the pay wall including audio controls and PinP settings. Hard to justify the price tag of the pro version when ATEM’s own software for PC is free and more user friendly (not something I often say about ATEM products). Giving this software 2 stars because it presents little value beyond remote control. Comparing to Roland’s RCS for the V-160HD which is free and user friendly. Really Mix Effect just feels like another reason to dislike ATEM and its ecosystem. It does what it’s supposed to but not well enough for the price tag.

This app single-handedly justifies the existence of the iPad. It’s that good.
Absolutely incredible app for controlling BlackMagic switchers. I use this regularly to control my ATEM Television Studio 4K8 for live events and it works flawlessly.

This is by far my favorite add on tool I have ever used!!! I specifically love the flexibility of being able to walk away from my station and keep an eye on what the production team is doing! I use the SuperSource tools all of the time. Simple and slick… upgrades your production by a factor of 10 with an effort of 2!!!!

I was referred to this app and on day one I discovered features that was not even on the ATEM Mini Pro. Features I’ve only seen in the higher end controller.

I downloaded the 30 day trial version and had a pretty complicated set up that I was trying to implement in my recording studio with the VFA feature and multiple cameras and audio sources. when I sent a support request through the app the developer himself scheduled a time to work through my issues with me. Adam spent quite a bit of time working with me and was incredibly kind. I was able to achieve what I wanted with his help and this app and I can see it is capable of so much more. The versatility and customizability is incredible. MixEffect has brought a whole new dimension to the ATEM hardware. 5 stars all the way.

Great app
It’s great when I saw it on YouTube I was excited, used trial for little and now purchased it. Works great and its nice to have extra features and more features then ATEM software has. I’d love to have a title addition added option added to streaming services, if that is possible of course.

Any TD, EIC, AC, should have this app in their arsenal. Even the average streamer would benefit from it. Adam has built the app Blackmagic should have long ago and it take Blackmagic to the next level. Thank you Adam

Can’t say enough good things about Adam Tow and Mix Effect pro. Been using it for a few years now, and I really love how it fits into my virtual studio and my black magic ATEM ME2. Just found out that it even works on a stream deck. Wow. just one request make more input boxes than four!
