About
MODA lets residents of Moda Homes follow a rent-to-own option they hold, and lets anyone explore what such an option would look like before they have one.
WHAT HAS CHANGED SINCE THE PREVIOUS VERSION
Our reply of 8 September 2026 said the app transmitted nothing and contained no wallet library. That described the version then under review. This version adds one feature that changes both: a resident can connect MetaMask to see their own option.
1. Connecting a wallet. On the My Options tab, a resident taps "Connect MetaMask". MetaMask opens, the resident approves, and MODA receives the wallet's public address. Connecting signs nothing and moves nothing. MODA then reads that wallet's option from a public blockchain record and shows the terms, the rewards earned, and the key dates.
2. What leaves the device. The wallet address is sent to Alchemy, a blockchain data provider, to read the record, and the connection passes through MetaMask's own relay. Nothing is sent to Moda. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no crash reporting. Notifications are scheduled on the device and request no push token. Our privacy policy and App Privacy answers describe exactly this.
3. No purchases in the app. There is no in-app purchase and no payment screen in this version.
4. No cryptocurrency is exchanged, held or sold. MODA holds no keys and no funds. The one transaction a resident can sign - through MetaMask, never in MODA - delivers their earned rental credit to the settlement agent at the closing of their home purchase. That credit is a record of rent paid on time, applied to their purchase. It cannot be bought or sold, and the contract lets it move only to the settlement agent at closing, or, with Moda's written consent, to someone who takes over the option. This step appears only after a resident has exercised their option, which no current resident has done.
HOW TO REVIEW IT
The wallet features show a resident's own record, so they need a wallet that holds an option. Rather than ask you to set one up, we have attached a video recorded on this build, 1.0.1 (20261002), installed from TestFlight. It shows connecting MetaMask, the option's record appearing with its earned months, and the app reopening on My Options.
The record in the video is a Moda test record on Ethereum mainnet, held by a Moda test wallet. It is marked "MODA TEST OPTION - NOT A HOME" and belongs to no resident, so no resident's information appears.
EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS WITHOUT A WALLET
The Simulate My Option tab - browsing homes, comparing plans, and building an option's dates from a move-in date and a lease length - needs no wallet and no network connection.

What's New in Moda Homes
1.0.1
October 6, 2026
Residents can now see their own option in the app. Connect your wallet and MODA shows the option recorded against it: the price locked in when you signed, the Rental Rewards you've earned month by month, and every date that matters — from your Option Fee to the day you can buy. Nothing is typed in and nothing is taken on trust. The figures come from the public record, so what you see is what your lender and your title company see. You can still explore homes and build an option's dates in Simulate, with no wallet needed.
