Shuffle no longer working
It stopped about level three. Why?
Was fun when I COULD OPEN game.
Now game closes as it opens. How can you play a game that you can’t get to stay to stay open??? 😫
Fun but no way to close ads
I enjoy the game but every bad that pops up does not offer a way to close it without choosing “install”. Every time i use any other free app on my iPad or phone, and ads pop up, there’s an “X” to close the ad after it runs. Ads on Modern Words don’t offer that option. Super annoying.

TOO ANNOYING/FRUSTRATING...
Good basic idea, but POOR implementation -- as just ONE example (among many), when you choose to "watch ads to gain hints," the app JUST SITS THERE AND NOTHING HAPPENS -- pointless. Also, the crossword puzzles are ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. After I finish writing this review, I WILL delete this app -- and that's a shame, because I like these kinds of games.

App crashes in word search grab. Uselessness

Flawed at best
I'll grant that the individual puzzles are fun, but the glitches and ads reduce the overall value of this app significantly. Some puzzles appeared twice under different headings, some changed identities after I closed the app and came back, one puzzle simply had too few letters to be solved, and a particular word search even refuses to remember that it's been solved: whenever I reopen the app, it says it's untouched, but I look and all the words are still circled. Very poorly executed, too buggy fir completion-oriented people like me, too slow with ads for casual players, not an app I would recommend.

Too many problems
I mainly like the anagrams, but often the letters make many more words than there are spaces for. So if you come up with six 4-letter words and there are only spaces for four, the last 2 are not counted, so it feels like you're not getting acknowledged for the skills the puzzle is supposed to reward. More frustrating: when I try to watch the "watch to unlock" ads, the screen goes blank and no ad plays, so nothing is unlocked. I've completed the puzzles I had been able to unlock, can't unlock any more, so now this app is an inert waste of space. Too bad, it was fun for a while.

Fun Until it Breaks
My favorite was crossword puzzles, but starting at Medium 3 level the "across" numbering is messed up.
It would be great if it weren't broken
I really like that there are all different types of games on here, but the crossword becomes unplayable after the easy level. The clues to the across words are all messed up: the numbers are wrong, some of the hints don't even exist on the puzzle, and if you happen to get the word by chance it clearly does not correspond at all to the clues. I was contemplating buying the full version, but not now, because it would be a waste of money on a broken product.

Challenging and Fun
Hooked on this game, especially the Anagrams.
Frustrating!
The easy level is fine, but the medium level crosswords are all messed up. The answer grid does not match the clues given. The only way to complete a puzzle is to guess words that might fit the spaces. Please fix this mess! So glad I didn't PAY for it!!
