Modern Forager has become my favorite app for documenting mushroom finds. Taking a photo is quick and easy, and I love that the app automatically records the date, time, weather, and location for each observation. The journal cards make it simple to keep track of discoveries and share them with other mushroom enthusiasts.
The AI identification feature is especially helpful when I’m trying to narrow down a species. I appreciate that it provides confidence scores, key identifying features, alternative possibilities, and clear safety disclaimers instead of presenting guesses as facts.
