Overheats and Drains Battery Fast
Battery Usage: Moj consumed 74% of my phone’s battery in just one day, even though I didn’t use it nonstop. Compared to TikTok, which used only 12% during the same period, this is extremely high.
🔥 Overheating Issue: While watching videos or browsing in Moj, my iPhone gets noticeably warm — almost uncomfortable to hold after 10–15 minutes. This doesn’t happen with other video apps like TikTok or YouTube.
⚙️ Optimization: Moj feels a bit laggy at times, and it seems the app isn’t well-optimized for iOS (especially newer models). It likely runs heavier background processes or video effects that stress the device more than necessary. Please follow the Apple’s thermal guidelines. Moj, while popular in India, may not be as well-optimized — leading to more CPU/GPU usage, which produces heat, especially in iPhone. So based on this issue I experienced I had deleted the app. I will not using it unless it’s optimized for iPhone like TikTok.
I’ve been using Moj for a while, especially for Tamil content, and while the videos and creators are amazing, the app itself has some serious performance issues on iPhone.
Before I turned off Background App Refresh, the app drained over 15% of my battery in just a few hours and caused noticeable heating, even when not in use. After turning off background activity and reinstalling, the performance improved a little — but Moj still drains battery faster than TikTok or YouTube, even with less usage.
It feels like Moj is not fully optimized for iOS, especially newer iPhones. Other similar apps run much smoother and cooler. Moj needs urgent updates to improve energy efficiency, video rendering, and background process control.
Until then, I’ll continue using it in short sessions only — but I hope the developers prioritize a fix. Content is 5-star, but performance is 2-star right now.

I love this app but since I did an update on the app my app has some kind of bug in it and won’t let me back on and keep flicking back out fast without letting me back on the app. As a Creator for India that live in America this my favorite app to do my content creator short videos.
