About

Mokuso is a diary you write by hand, with the Apple Pencil, on a page that stays empty until you put something on it. The palette opens where your pen already is — an arc of tools within a turn of the wrist, so your hand never crosses the page to reach them. Pick a nib and write. Place, date and time go down when you want them, and not before. ONE DIARY, THREE DEVICES Mokuso keeps your diary as plain folders in your own iCloud Drive — one folder per day, the ink in its own file, and a Markdown transcript beside it that any text editor on earth can open. iPad, iPhone and Mac share the same folders. Nothing lives in a database only Mokuso understands. NOTHING HAPPENS BY ITSELF A fresh page is empty. Every block is one you placed: a passage of handwriting, a timestamp, the place, the date. The diary does not arrange your day for you. CANVASES BESIDE THE DIARY What belongs to no single day has a place of its own: goals, plans, sketches to clear your head. Above the calendar runs a row of canvases, each an endless surface that grows in every direction. Fountain pen, ballpoint, pencil, marker and eraser, six ink colours and three stroke widths for each tool. A canvas opens where you left it. One is free; more come with the subscription. QUIET BY DESIGN No feed, no streaks, no reminders, no accounts. Handwriting is transcribed on the device itself and never leaves it; nothing from your diary is ever sent. Mokuso only counts anonymously which features are used — a random install ID is added only if you allow it. YOURS TO KEEP Because a day is an ordinary folder, you can copy it, back it up, or read it in twenty years without Mokuso. Lock the app behind Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, or leave it open — that is a decision each device makes for itself. Reading your diary is always free. So are the first three days you write in. After that, one subscription covers iPad, iPhone and Mac together. WRITING WITH THE APPLE PENCIL Writing happens with the Apple Pencil on an iPad. iPhone and Mac read your diary, and so does an iPad without an Apple Pencil. SUBSCRIPTION AND LEGAL Mokuso Monthly — an auto-renewing subscription. Length: 1 month. Price: £0.99 per month (prices vary by region). One subscription covers iPad, iPhone and Mac together. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage and cancel it at any time in your Apple Account settings. What's New in Mokuso

1.2.0

October 7, 2026
