About
Your apps. Your brightness.
Choose supported apps, then choose when to lower brightness: when an app opens, when a notification arrives, or both. MolReel restores the previous brightness when you leave the app or the notification timer ends.
SIMPLE CHOICES
Search the app catalog by name. Familiar social and messaging apps appear first. Choose a brightness from 1–100%; the default is 15%. A screen already below your target stays as it is.
IPHONE SETUP
Requires iOS 27 or later and Apple Shortcuts. Add the supplied MolReel helper once, then import the ready-made automations for each chosen app. Enable each automation and run it once to approve the system permissions. The first connection check does not change brightness. For app entry, connect the exit automation first. You do not need to save documents or assemble actions. System approvals remain under your control.
NOTIFICATIONS
The notification timer can be set from 1–8 seconds. iOS does not tell MolReel exactly when a banner disappears. Entering a chosen app keeps the selected brightness until you leave. Timing and execution depend on Shortcuts and system conditions.
RESTORE WITH CARE
Local recovery records help restore only the brightness MolReel changed. If restoration needs attention, choose to restore the saved level or keep your current brightness. The optional brightness preview asks before it starts.
The existing Instagram Reel-notification preset is retained. In that preset, opening Instagram within 45 seconds of a matching notification may dim even after the notification is dismissed; it does not identify the exact tap, sender, or video playback.
FREE AND LOCAL
No ads, subscriptions, MolReel account, analytics, or notification uploads. Settings and recovery records stay on your device. Diagnostic sharing is optional and initiated by you. MolReel does not disable HDR or promise health benefits. It is independent and not affiliated with the apps you choose, Instagram, or Meta.
The base interface supports 17 languages. New multi-app setup is available in English and Korean, with English fallback elsewhere. Support: studio@cdjstudio.xyz
