What's New in Moments Camera
1.5.1
January 12, 2026
In this version (1.5.1) ● Photos now preserve their original filenames when sent to Mac (IMG_0123.HEIC instead of generic device names) ● Live Photos correctly send both the image (.HEIC) and video (.MOV) with matching names ● Improved upload queue handling for multiple photos sent in quick succession ● Better network connection stability with Moments Mac app In this version (1.5.0) ● Working like the native Apple Camera app, use Volume Up/Down to take a picture ● When multiple Moments host applications are running that the phone can see, you are now presented with a dialog box to choose which host to connect to. You can disconnect/reconnect using the host connection button in the top left of the screen. The Moments host owner can rename their host on the Settings : General pane. ● Migrated Host Photos from MultipeerConnectivity to Network.framework for improved reliability and ongoing Apple support. Fixed stream corruption in the framer by switching from stateful two-phase parsing to atomic message consumption. Breaking change for Moments, Moments Camera and Moments Print. ● Fixes a Race condition on first launch - the PHPhotoLibraryChangeObserver is registered asynchronously (in the authorization callback), but the user could take a photo before it completes. The first photo's change notification would be missed. ● Fixes a photo library permission issue that could mean photos are ignored for upload ● Added duplicate photo detection when taking and queuing photos ● Fixes an issue when the app was backgrounded and theb brought to the foreground - it would not automatically reconnect to the Moments host - it does now when the timer fires ● Fixes an issue where images added from the camera roll were not automatically uploaded to Moments (host) ● Added Photo taken/upload tracking - "Pending: X | Uploaded: Y" - when uploads are queued ● Usage of the connected software suite, Moments (host), Moments Camera, Moments print - will require your own router/wireless accesspoint (you need to be in control - do not rely on the host venue to provide as Capitive Portal or Public networks often implement client isolation which will prevent anything from working)
