NOT compatible with MM5 /2024
This will work, - but it throws up error messages in windows when you play an mp3 from explorer etc. It states that MM is running in portable mode, (it isn’t). And that it’s MM4 that’s running and not MM5/2024. The command .\MediaMonkey.exe /elevate /regcomserver does not cure the issue.
I know I downloaded the correctly labelled add on from the mediamote site, But strongly suspect the add on I actually received was for MediaMonkey 4 and not 5/2024. I’m just glad it wasn’t that expensive. Still disappointing though…

Almost but not quite
A reasonable remote for the money. Needs the ability to be able to direct the music output to a device of your choice. Playlists is cluttered, not reflecting exactly the playlists created on JRiver.

Works in my crazy network
I have an old Dell laptop as my media server using JRiver. The Dell's wireless card stopped working, so I used a Network Repeater to give me a wired connection between my router and my Dell. The repeater is limited to 2.4 Wireless N, while my router is a dual band Wireless AC. Initially, MonkeyMote couldn't find my laptop across the 5G connection to my router. So I tried connecting my iPad to the Wireless Repeater (which is what my Dell was plugged into) and MonkeyMote had no trouble finding my lapt. I resigned myself to the slower speeds of the repeater initially, but got so ticked off that I decided I would simply change my WiFi connection on the iPad whenever I needed to control MonkeyMote. To my surprise, using the 5G connection on my iPad, MonkeyMote was still available. Whether this is due to MonkeyMote or the two routers, I'll never bother to figure that out; it just works without any issue.
As far as MonkeyMote, the media interface is far superior than Apple's own Remote app to control iTunes. Once I got it through the networking hurdles, it has been flawless at controlling JRMC. For $3, I am surprised at how well it works. The folks at MonkeyMote deserve an AttaBoy.

Takes some Practice
Trying to keep things aligned between devices and stereo is a job, but is unavoidable. Nail down the addresses.
Monkeymote
We have been using Mediamonkey for our home music system for a several years and have been using Monkeymote for over a year. Monkeymote is far superior to our old standard using Apple Remote on an iPad. It is much, much faster to show the albums in a large music collection, which was my growing complaint with Apple Remote. It also has superior displays of the music playing and queued. Recommended highly.

This is one of my best apps. Awesome!
Good but not perfect
I use this with Mediamonkey. It works well enough, was easy to set up, and loads and navigates much faster than the Apple remote app (which is perfectly fine in its own right). I would like to see it able to reflect more of the functionality of MM, like multiple collections, and to allow browsing and playing within playlists, but for its basic purpose it works really well.
I would also like to see AirTunes output integrated into the app itself - although to be fair it's not really integrated properly into Mediamonkey yet. One functionality bug - it doesn't handle single albums split into multiple discs correctly. This could be related to tag types, but certainly causes issues on my collection.

Easy access
I have almost over 3 terabytes of lossless music on my hard drive. Any album, artist or song is a couple taps away on my iPad. Bliss.

Great app for remote control of computer based music libraries
This app does what it says it does and it does it easily..from set up to actual use. Reminds me of the feeling that I got using VisiCalc for the first time on an Apple II so many years ago. Highly recommend.

Monkey mote
I use with Mediamonkey on PC and control with iPad. No longer running back and forth to switch songs and turn down volume. monkey mote on ipad throughout the house. Great app.
Great remote for WinAmp
If you use WinAmp, this works great as a remote. It's a lot like Apple's Remote app for iTunes. I won't get into why I like WinAmp so much better than iTunes (for Windows), but for those that agree, and still use WinAmp, this app does some nice tricks and works well. I use it to control a large MP3 library for home listening on a little netbook connected to my living room stereo, and it works great for that, with nice playlist control and browsing features. Developer updates features and fixes bugs regularly. Make sure you keep the companion WinAmp plugin updated, too.

Works well with my iPad mini
Did not configure itself automatically but this was probably my fault. I set up connection to media monkey on my PC using simple instructions on the monkey mote website no problem. Very handy app.

An amazing app.Does everything you want it to do, except connection between server drops quiet frequently whitch I find very annoying, that you have restart aimp on your PC and app on my iPad.Please sort it out for a 5 star rating.
Fantastic and seamless
Media monkey is the best music app on the market and this remote works extremely well.
I have vcmote as well but I find this app a little better ( so far) in that it synchronises differently. No off line mode, but that is not a problem for me anyway.
I particularly like the screen setup and sizing on monkey mote - very good use of the space.
