About
MONO is a camera that cannot see colour.
The viewfinder is already black and white before you press the shutter. You build the picture in tone instead of taking the colour out afterwards — and you know at once whether a subject carries, or was merely colourful.
FILTERS LIKE REAL GLASS
Yellow for an everyday sky, orange to cut haze, red for hard contrast, green to lift foliage. They weigh the colours before the picture turns grey, exactly as screw-on filters do in front of a lens, and you watch them work while you frame.
TWENTY-THREE LOOKS
From fine-grained studio stock to coarsely pushed reportage material. The grain is not an overlay: it is calculated for every frame and reacts to exposure like film does.
MADE FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
Manual shutter and ISO on a proper scale. Metering modes, exposure compensation, focus peaking, a level, a histogram, a grid. RAW alongside, if you want it. Shoot from the lock screen or with the Camera Control button.
THE FIRST ROLL IS FREE
Thirty-six frames, the whole app — nothing locked, no watermark, full resolution. After that, MONO unlimited is available as a yearly subscription or as a one-time purchase. The price for your country is shown in the app before you buy.
The subscription renews automatically for another twelve months unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, where you can manage or cancel it at any time. The one-time purchase never renews.
NOTHING ELSE
No account, no sign-in, no cloud. The app contains no networking code at all — your photographs never leave your phone through MONO.
Black and white. Nothing else.

What's New in MONO
1.0.4
September 30, 2026
The detail view now belongs to the picture. The photo reaches the edges. Counter, exposure data and buttons sit beside it instead of on top, and a tap on the picture hides them altogether. Held sideways, a landscape photo fills the full height. The exposure data has a new panel – with a header, quiet rows, and scrolling when the list gets long. And INFO is finally big enough to hit with a finger.
