About
Mono combines an everyday notes tool with an owner-authenticated web browser.
Before handing your iPhone to family, a friend, or a coworker, choose Close Screen from the browser menu. Mono replaces the visible browsing screen with Today's Note and requires Face ID or your app PIN before the browser can open again.
TODAY'S NOTE
• Automatic saving with a clear saving/saved state
• Multiple notes, search, pinning, and sharing
• Fast timestamped additions
• Version history with restore
• Bring a note back to the top at a chosen time
• Check lines without changing the note text
EVERYDAY BROWSING
• One field for addresses and searches
• Multiple tabs, tab search, and recently closed tabs
• History, bookmarks, and downloads
• Find in page, desktop website, and sharing
• Google, DuckDuckGo, or Bing search
• Web content rendered by Apple's WebKit
OWNER SCREEN PROTECTION
• Hold the date, then use Face ID or the app PIN; the default 0.8-second hold is adjustable in browser Settings
• An opaque privacy cover appears when the app becomes inactive
• Immediate, 30-second, 1-minute, or 5-minute auto-lock
• Disposable sessions and optional data clearing on close
CONTENT BLOCKING
Mono uses a small bundled WKContentRuleList to reduce some ads, trackers, and disruptive redirects. If a site breaks, protection can be disabled for that site in one step. Mono does not promise to block every ad, tracker, or harmful page.
WEBSITE LOGINS KEPT INSIDE MONO
• Confirm before a login is saved or updated
• Add, edit, search, and delete saved IDs and passwords
• No entries are added to Apple Passwords, iCloud Keychain, or an AutoFill extension
• Fill only on HTTPS and the exact saved host; never submit automatically
• Login records are encrypted on device and excluded from backups
LOCAL FIRST
No account is required. Mono contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or proprietary browsing-data upload SDKs. It does not send notes, browsing activity, or saved logins to a developer-operated server. Websites still receive ordinary browser requests when you visit them.
Mono does not read Safari tabs or Safari history. It protects the browsing session you choose to keep inside Mono.
