Seriously?
Just spent $8 on the app only to find the S and T are the wrong way round in the build your own words section. Seriously? You have one job with an alphabet app.
No feature to save progress. Finicky about word building.
It’s June 2013 and since I saw similar comments from a long time ago, I thought that these bugs were fixed. We bought this app to contribute to the work this team is doing, but I’m disappointed that there is no feature to save work. My kid has to start over every time and this is very frustrating, after they successfully completed the work before (Montessori way). Further, the rectangles where the letters have to be placed a fuzzy about where the letter has to be positioned. This is not relevant to the movable alphabet, so it’s also very frustrating to my kid, when the box doesn’t turn green. It would be great to have the save feature and the rectangles be less buggy.

Sound wont work
The sound won’t work for us. We have the volume all the way up and not muted.... humm
Glitch - sound glitch on “l”
Hello,
There’s a glitch where the “l” is placed; when you click on it, it sounds like “o” instead of sounding like “l”
Please fix. Thanks

Great but flawed
The app is just what I was looking for except that it sometimes doesn’t sense where the letters are placed exactly so sometimes the game doesn’t say it’s right (green box) even when it is. This leads to lots of frustration and confusion.
Question
My son loves the app. My only complaint is that half the time he identifies the letters of the word correctly but the box does not turn green. Is there a reason for this or a way to fix this issue?
A little disappointed
Sometimes the word directly across from the picture doesn’t match what the speaker says... you end up having words and their spelling match diagonally (fox=pen, pen=fox)
Also the letter tray has the alphabet letters out of order in the bottom row.
For as anal as the Montessori method is, I am dismayed that these obvious mistakes haven’t been fixed by now.

Great App Fun To Use And Helps Child Learn Fast
Its a nice app but just on the 3rd page in word set 1, the box for letter “j” for “jam” is looking half colored, I checked the next pages and there are many more like that and that is only on the word set 1.
The problem with that is those words with the half colored boxes don't light up when answered correctly, which results in frustration.
I was so happy to see my child working on the letter words only for 5 minutes.
I really hope it is fixed ASAP
Update 04.04.19
Thank you for the response, we have actually figured out the problem soon after I posted the review. Totally my bad I am embarrassed for my comments when I realized this.
The app IS working great, my son loves it and it does help my son learn the phonics even his Montessori teacher noticed his progress. It is a FIVE STAR!
Now we are waiting for the next group of words :)

Changes needed
This app would be better if there was the option to use control words (words spelled out already). I hope the developer makes this change. At the moment it remains too intimidating for my preschooler.
Jo’s and G’s don’t light up when spelled correctly
The app is still buggy, despite the latest updates.
Having trouble
Having trouble with some of the words. Any word with a j or g doesn't light when it's spelled correct
Volume doesn't work
The volume won't work, which makes the app useless.
Good, few issues
It does what we were looking for although I wish the handwriting (cursive) app was also updated - especially since that is what is normally used in Montessori schools.
It resets every time it is opened, so it goes through the little intro demo every time. It doesn't keep track of what you did last time. And it often doesn't show the green success box around a work - sometime you have to place the letters more exactly in the middle sometimes it just never works.

Great apps for any Montessorian
As a certified Montessori toddler, early childhood, and lower elementary teacher I have to say I absolutely LOVE these apps. The subtle music and sounds, and the calmness of the voices fits right into the Montessori style of teaching. Not only do I use all of the apps for my own son at home, but I also recommend them to parents who ask for "homework", or who want to supplement their children's Montessori education further.
I understand that some people find the apps too boring for their children, or feel as if their children aren't "stimulated" enough. Montessori education stimulates children by giving them accurate facts to work with, not by overloading their senses with bright colors and animated pictures, or loud music and sounds.
These apps are a great addition to the Montessori curriculum, presenting children with the original tools but in a more modern medium.

Essential classroom app!
This simple, versatile app is used everyday in our grade one classroom. Great tool for literacy learning. Looking forward to more amazing apps in the future - grammar app maybe?
Waste of $3
Shows a picture and a bunch of letters. Doesn't show how to spell or offer any correcting. Can't change to upper case letters. Your kid could spell "cat" as "jrgifrohlhfdf" and would have no clue if he or she was correct. Don't waste your money.
.?.
Not worth the money. What a disappointment. Extremely limited.
Word pronunciation
I like the setup of this app however the individual letter sounds do not blend together as words are made and there is no confirmation that a word is spelled correctly. I wish the speaker would pronounce the letter combinations as the letters are moved in place on the mat. I would also like some sort of indication that a would has been spelled correctly. I would not buy this again.

Good, not great
Really like that you can move the letters and clearly hear the sounds in making the words. However, the child cannot do this alone as it does not tell them if they spelled it correctly when you put the letters together by saying the word or a yes. Likely very complex as it really allows the child to move the letters at will. Also, the letters do not carry the sound so you need to push the button for each letter quickly to hear it sound out the word. It is still a good app but play it with your child.

Needs some work
The app is ok - sounds could use some improvement… If you press the picture twice quickly it repeats itself - press it several times in a row and it sounds like phonetic "rap" - please fix this. Also would like a way to clear the letters from the "canvas" without using reset and starting the cards from the beginning. If you are not going to do that at least do a "snap to" when replacing the letters. As it stands now they just sort of overlay each other and after a while it simply gets messy…
