Poorly designed
It’s a shame that this app is presently essential if you want to change tuning, because it is incredibly poorly thought out.
First of all - off white text on a white background is an accessibility nightmare, I have no idea what they were thinking here. Just zero thought into accessibility.
That out of the way - i should make it clear that I’m coming to this from the perspective of an experienced musician who really likes tonal percussion, and liked the idea of something that had the handpan expressivity/form factor, but was more flexible.
I do not think I am the target market for this - I believe it is really designed as a more “nee-age” musical healing sort of thing, because changing things that would be helpful to actually making music with it is tedious. You can do it, but it requires this very app to do so, and its not quick.
The first thing I did was change the user instruments. That was easy, and I now have four new sounds I will actually use. This is about where the positive review ends.
Changing out scales is tedious. A “root note” selection would go so very far- if you want to change the root note of the scale, you have to enter an entirely new scale.
The rest of the app is set to control the background music, which I will never use. Unfortunately, that really seems to be a major focus here.
I don’t know, maybe it’s my fault for assuming that the software would actually be built for how a musician may approach things. Just a lot of lost potential. Maybe we’ll see an update, but I’m not holding my breath for one - it is what it is, and you should consider this feature complete.
I’ll try to make the best of it in the meantime.

Needs preset scales
If you want to change keys you have to go in and pre-program every note and then save it. This really should have a quick key change option so you can go quickly from one key to another.
Roland refuses to ship this device
Retailers have been left in the dark for weeks on when the Mood Pan will ship and have been left embarrassed trying their best to explain to upset customers that they don't know anything. When they ship it I'll change my rating
