It’s just ok when it works
The app is simple with a mediocre ui and subpar user experience. But I set that aside because I just want to track my heart rate. What’s harder to ignore are the bugs. This app is less reliable than the Android counterpart. I’ve had multiple instances of the app failing to sync with the backend server, where it spins and the homepage ui is hidden. The only fix is to reinstall the app, sometimes resulting in data loss. Have also had issues with it freezing when going to the recovery screen, requiring a reinstall to fix. And I’ve experienced signal loss from the hardware while doing a recovery, which is fixed by restarting the app and power cycling the hardware. Haven’t had any of these issues on the Android app after a year of use.

Slow to connect
In the morning you want it to be responsive and get on with the 2:30 test. I frequently wait for it to load data from Apple health (sleep data) while it spins and spins until I give up. Dev said to disconnect those “third parties” delete app and reinstall. Sure that worked for a day or so and now it is happening again and I want the sleep data assuming the algorithm is using it. It’s almost worth writing my own app at this point given the speed with which one can develop one. I will say it’s a good app when it works.

Struggles to connect
I want so bad for this device to be great, but no one who would want one has the kind lifestyle to spend 20 minutes connecting it every morning.
Heart rate zones
Just signed up and looks like the HR zones are way too high based on all the experts I’ve studied.
