Amazing! Worth the $ Buuuttt…

Can’t get my SN30 Pro to work! Overall, I love this game and I’m giving it five stars to support the developer. I fell in love with the original game a long time ago and I just discovered that there was this second version. Everything was going great except I can’t get my 8bitdo SN30 Pro to work. I’ve tried all the settings, but I can’t get it to work. In comparison, the original game works flawlessly with the controller.

Besides that this is one of the hidden gems on the App Store. My favorite platformer.

Throw the controller award!

I haven’t enjoyed a game this much since playing the classics like Mario,Metroid,Zelda,Blaster Master, in my youth. Even tho the above listed games are not connected to this game. The developers captured all the of joy and timeless magic of those games i.e. that fine line between frustration and fun. Well done to all involved in the creation of this game. Thank you.

Boring game

Controls are not so smooth either.

Super entertaining!

Enjoyed playing this game.
Definitely get your money's worth.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Awesome, classic platformer

Despite its name, speed running is only about a quarter of what you do. It's got lots of secrets just like older platformers. The difficulty curve is right on point. You can race ghosts from other players with similar times, which makes it feel like multiplayer.

Great game

Classic retro side-scrolling platformer. Level design and progression is great, and the hidden passages are very well done. Controls make the levels enough of a challenge without seeming impossible at any point. Saved and online ghosts add more challenge to try and climb the leaderboards.

Good game

I have an issue with trying to press the back button? It seems like there is quite a bit of delay when the character try's and goes the opposite way.

Teeth gritting fun! LoL

Very entertaining game! I appreciate that the Dev(s) has made it available that we can change the position of the controls because they start out way too close together.. in my opinion. My only gripe about this game would be the size of the control buttons. I have small hands and yet I have a problem with those buttons being too small. It was the same with the original game as well and it becomes frustrating because the game is timed and you need to be able to control your game character. If you could make the control buttons a tad larger I would be a happy camper. 😁

I wanna like it

But it's hard. I mean the art style i so so, and i don't mind it but the jumping mechanic horrible - wall jumps are crazy frustrating - i enjoy a challenge, but not fighting the controls. It's just insanely silly how it works. Other thing is that the game as a very weird support for mfi, what i mean by weird is that touch controls are better than mfi - i got PXN and it works very laggy (Dan the Man works brilliantly on it) it seems to be way less precise than just touch controls which both weird and disappointing.

Refuses to finish install

So no review possible.

Getting to the end is just the start

This is a very polished game, like an easier Meat Boy for iOS. The physics and game mechanics paired with simple controls make this easy to play on the iPhone or iPad. With each level, there are five different objectives you can try to accomplish: finish, finish under time, finish with all coins, finish with the golden skull, and finish with the day charm. The replay value is great, especially for a "pay once" game. Worth every penny I paid. This is the best platformer I've played on iOS so far.

Tough but addictive platformer

I've been playing this for weeks now and it's by far the best platform game and I've played on iOS!

Excellent game

Challenging. Fun. Great number of levels. Love everything about you.

Superb

Great simple graphics. Very addictive game

Fun little platformer, can be challenging!

One of the more entertaining mobile games that doesn't take too much time! (Unless you let it ;). Collecting all the unlockables can be a real challenge however, especially the speed runner medal. Still, for a little test of skill I give my recommendation for the game!

Negatives: Good music but it's the same for each stage... Might recommend playing your own tunes.
No instruction on how to find the daycharms... It's straightforward once one appears however.
No bonus for beating top times! But a warm fuzzy feeling.

Highly recommended

Fun and challenging mechanics without being frustrating. One of the best platformers on iOS

Some good reviews here, just not my cup of tea.

Sorry to go against the general consensus, but I found this all a bit drab & amateurish.
The pixel art on the sprites isn't the best & the colour palette is rather dull.
It all just felt a bit humdrum, uninspired & uninspiring.

Like living in Dunstable.

Maybe I'm missing the point & there's something amazing going on here that I'm just not getting (I was the same with The Office when that was first on telly).

Fun and challenging

This is a very nice platform game that reminds me of a Nintendo Mario brothers game.

It has simple graphics and excellent controls.

Beautiful but irritating!

I LOVE most platform games. This game is cute and very well polished. There are plenty of levels (apparently), but the controls and movement annoyed me from the start and it only got worse.

You slip off platforms with momentum, your jump is weak, you need to move left to jump right and the player moves a little too slowly, making the levels seem longer: this is compounded by major setbacks if you miss some jumps (adding to monotony). One of these challenges alone would disappoint me, but all of them together are guaranteed to irritate me significantly.

The hidden rooms were really well done. The over-emphasis of timers annoying (but tolerable) as I like to explore - instead of repeatedly being told I'm slow.

It would have been better to see a bug related consumable rather than the coin cliché.

Ultimately, it was the controls and movement that killed my interest in this game. If you prefer fiddly controls that add challenge, this game may really tickle your fancy.

Feels like Super Meat Boy.
