Subpar

Routinely does not have drugs that I’m looking for

Response from developer

Hello and thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience with the app isn't what you expected. As of the latest edition Mosby's features more than 5,000 generic and trade-name drugs. This content comes directly from the publisher of the title, but we can forward your comments to them for review and potential revision. Thank you.

Minimal customization

Not for Canadian market, (doesn't have things like Ventolin or Diclectin). Not categorized and searchable by drug class or disease or anything. Cannot customize what info to show first for each drug. Really disappointed and I will likely not renew subscription next year.

Response from developer

Hello and sorry for the issue you are experiencing. It may help to utilize the universal search option (magnifying glass icon) to find available drugs. We were able to find results for (generic versions of) Ventolin and Diclectin. Also, you may be interested in the 14-Day Free trial for our Davis's Drug Guide app, which has customization by Generic and Brand names.

Mosby’s drug reference

I’m a nurse, and unfortunately while trying to look up my patients meds most of them weren’t there. Not worth the $$

What is the drug reference

I have used this in the past in my nursing school days, over 20 years ago. It is just a great reference, back in the day and today. I’ve always recommend this drug reference book, to my colleagues and new nursing students.

Response from developer

We are delighted to hear that you used the app for Nursing School in the past and still reference it today! Thank you for sharing your positive review and recommending the app to upcoming nursing students and colleagues as well.

Great, but would be greater if there was a version for people in the dental field.

I have the hard copy of Mosby’s Dental Drug Reference, it would be great if an app version can be created for it. The nursing one is great, but it doesn’t contain all of the dental contraindications that the book has. I hope you guys make one!

Response from developer

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback! We will be sure to pass your suggestion along to our team.

RN

Will suspend subscription. Can’t find common drug. Uses generic name first. Can’t pull up drug from favorites list.

Response from developer

Hello. We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the application. Please reach out to our Support team with any questions you may have; we may be able to help you navigate the application more easily. Our number is 610-627-9090 (M-F, 9 to 5PM EST)

Question about favorite list?

Is there a way to separate mine and my husbands favorites?

Response from developer

Hi there, each Mosby's account has its own Favorites list. If you and your husband use the same Mosby's account, then your Favorites will be combined. These accounts are intended for individual use. If you wish to have your own accounts and Favorites lists, it would be necessary to purchase a second account. Please see our website for more information, or feel free to reach out to our Support team at support@unboundmedicine.com.

It’s ok

I’m a nursing student and for the most part it works ok. Every time I search norco or hydrocodone hydrochlorothiazide comes up. Meds are missing too. Don’t remember which ones because I had to resort to lexicomp on the desktop but I feel like for $50 the app should be updated more often.

Response from developer

Hi Ashley, we appreciate the feedback. Mosby's is updated annually when new editions are released. Please email any specific missing meds to support@unboundmedicine.com. We will forward those comments to the Mosby's publisher for their consideration.

Missing drugs

I’ve been a nurse for a while and in my downtime I look up random drugs and have found this app to be woefully lacking on the drugs I want to know more about. In 3 months, I have come across 19 drugs we have used but are not listed in this reference. That’s pathetic.

Response from developer

We're sorry to hear you are not finding what you're looking for in Mosby's. Feel free to email our support team at support@unboundmedicine.com with the names of any drugs you find to be missing. We license the content of Mosby's Drug Reference from the publisher and would be happy to contact them so that they can review any proposed entries for inclusion in the guide with future content updates.

Not what I was hoping for.

This does not have drugs such as etomidate, and ketamine available.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. We have forwarded your request for entries on these drugs to the publisher for their review and potential revision. Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention and feel free to reach out to our Support team at support@unboundmedicine.com if you have other concerns.

Excellent Resource for Medication Information

I have been using the Mosby’s Nursing Drug Reference since the for edition was published. Yes that dates me. However, it has always been a very reliable resource for information about medications I administered to my patients. It was also an excellent resource for my nursing students, and one that they could take with them into the nursing field after graduation. The drugs have always been listed alphabetically by generic name, which initially not all references did. This is invaluable in looking up drugs more quickly. Having the drug reference is very helpful, even now that I am retired. I still get asked questions by others. I can quickly look up the information on the app in my phone without having to take the time to do an internet search. I would definitely recommend this resource to those that need a good reference for drug information.

SCAM: misleading and worthless

App does *nothing* — it’s worthless, and you CANNOT “preview” anything until you fork over $45.00.

At which point you’ve wasted $45.00, because the “drug information/database” is old, outdated, incomplete, and lacking in content (current drugs, et al)

Response from developer

We appreciate your feedback. We offer the app for free so that users may preview the layout and some content before deciding to make a purchase. For example, Methylin is available in the preview. The current version offers the most up-to-date content as released by the publisher. If there is specific information that you deem outdated, we encourage you to reach out to our Support team so that we may notify the publisher.

VKEN

It is my daily bible and always reading one medication each day. Easy to read and follow because it is organise similar to our body system.

Inadequate

I'm a practicing physician and this app is not up to the task. Couldn't find mitotane or fosfomycin today. Not worth the memory it takes up on your device

Disappointing

Disappointed in this app. Many of the drugs I try to look up are not included. Categories drugs are listed in are strange. Not worth the $$ I paid.

Disappointed

I purchased this app to help me with clinicals and so I would have to take my drug with me to clinicals. When I was searching for some of the drugs I needed to look ( they are not new drugs either) I couldn't find them or there classification. I spent a lot of money on this app to use as a resource and the book and neither one is very helpful.

Horrible

Did not give me any insight at all.

Disappointed

I bought this drug book to use at home yo look up medication before I took it. Aim a retired RN. Since I bought this(about 2 Weeks ago) I have looked up probably about 6 medicines. At least 3 wasn't in the drug book. Some of these were old medicines and should nave been.
I downloaded "Webb MD Drugs" and every medicine I look up is in it. It was free!!! Looks like I wasted 45 dollars!!!
I'm giving 3 stars because the Meds that you find in have a lot of information about them.

ER RN

Everything I need to know on the fly when giving new meds! Very helpful in assisting me to answer pt and family questions. Not to mention safety of contraindications and administration route/dilution and time!!

Incomplete listings

Very poor reference. A number of pulmonary agents are missing. The company has no interest in improving the listings. Avoid this incomplete drug reference.
