Motif Studio: Learn Piano

Motif Studio teaches you to play the piano the way a good teacher would — by reading and playing real music, not chasing falling tiles or guessing notes by ear. Plug in any MIDI keyboard (USB or Bluetooth) and the app lights the next key, shows you which finger to use, and listens as you play — waiting when you need it to, keeping time when you're ready. No keyboard yet? You can start right on screen. LEARN BY PLAYING • Lit-key guidance with finger numbers — see exactly what to play • Wait mode holds for you, then steps up to playing in time • Real staff notation from your first note, introduced gently • A guided first lesson that gets a complete beginner playing in minutes A COMPLETE PRACTICE STUDIO • Sight-reading trainer — read fresh music at rising levels • Rhythm trainer — tap the beat, no keyboard needed • Note fluency drills — learn the staff cold • Theory lessons — the why behind the notes • Chord skills — six levels, from your first chord to inversions • Metronome with adjustable tempo, meter and tap tempo PLAY BY CHORDS, LIKE A REAL MUSICIAN • Read chord symbols and comp along with a full backing band — bass and drums keep the groove • Paste your own chord progression and learn to play it • Choose how the chords sit under your hand: every chord from its root, or voiced close to the one before so your hand barely moves • The app listens for the notes, not for one exact voicing THE ARCADE — GAMES THAT TEACH • Bullseye and Coin Run turn the song you're learning into a timing game • Lamplighter: light each lantern by playing the chord on the staff • Echo Caves: hear a phrase and play it back as it grows, a note at a time • Recital Night: the whole piece, one take, in front of an audience • The Tour: every practice session moves you further down the road • A Daily Gig: a short, fresh set to play each day A GROWING SONG LIBRARY • Dozens of public-domain pieces, arranged in house from beginner to advanced • From "Hot Cross Buns" and "Twinkle Twinkle" to "Canon in D", "Für Elise" and Beethoven's 5th • A clear difficulty ladder, so there is always a sensible next step • Import your own MIDI songs — the app splits melody and harmony between your hands for you PROGRESS THAT RESPECTS YOU • A gentle practice streak with a built-in grace day — encouragement, never shaming • Daily goals and achievements you actually earn • A home-screen widget showing your streak and today's goal • Celebrations only when you have genuinely accomplished something FREE & PRO • Free to start: the guided first lesson, beginner songs, sight-reading, note fluency, rhythm, the metronome, music theory, the Daily Gig, the Arcade games on your free songs, and your streak and goals • One optional purchase — Motif Studio Pro — unlocks the full song library, practice for the songs you import, Play by Chords, Chord Skills, and up to 6 player profiles • One time, yours forever, with Family Sharing.
