Ta-da they’ve made it worse

An already limited but bearable App has been rendered nearly useless by its new update.

Slower, clunkier and infuriating, especially unimpressed by the fact that when you zoom in to read it keeps spontaneously snapping back to the original size.

If I didn’t love my iPad I’d be chucking this in the bin in frustration.

Wanted to give it no stars but you have to give one star to be allowed to post the review

Never loads new issue

Rubbish, every month you have to contact support so they can reset your app with the new issue. Takes 2-4 days to do.

The App does not work on iPad

Every time a new issue is available it doesn’t load but goes into a queueing loop. Have waited days for a load even with the fastest fibre connection. Very frustrating and do not recommend subscribing through the App but directly with Magazine Direct on their website.

Stuck in queued

Hopeless app! Had to cancel subscription as it gets stuck in queued every new issue and the only solution is delete and restore. No help from developers.

Content lacking

I find the magazine lacking in decent content. More tech and kit reviews would be nice. Less adverts too.

Forced Reviews

Everything that keeps hassling me for reviews gets one star from me. Hasn’t anyone thought how annoying it is that every single thing that one does, someone wants a review? If you order goods online, not only does the vendor want a review but so does the delivery firm etc etc. It is now a full time job providing reviews for every aspect of life. I only give good ratings to deserved causes that don’t keep asking me for a review.

App does NOT WORK

Do not buy this! It is utterly useless! New issues will not download and there is no response when you try to contact MBY! How Apple allowed this on their apps store is beyond me!

Can’t restore purchases!

Since the new version, I can’t restore purchases I have made. Several years of issues paid are not available to me. Clicking on restore does nothing, not even a dialogue box with a message explaining why it is not working.
I like the magazine, but the app should get zero stars.

App is terrible

Great magazine but app is terrible. Deletes all my downloaded issues when I go into airplane mode. Think I would rather stick to paper!

What have they done?

Never was the best app but the new version keeps locking up on my iPad.

Monthly fix

When I can't get down to my boat, this gives me my monthly fix. Worth the subscription.

Good content let down by execution

As the title says, excellent content as I have come to expect from MBY.
But the execution is pitiful. This is basically a scan of the magazine. Come on guys this is 2015. No embedded content, not even a link to click on & as for a searchable index forget it.

Not very impressive in the first place but now stopped working so I can't get latest edition. Still got 2 months of subscription left and currently MBY says it's an iTunes problem and vice versa which is so frustrating.
Better off buying hard copy of the magazine.

Poor

This is pretty poor really, just a static version of the print edition. Video could be embedded for example. There are much better ways of producing magazines on apps these days

Nice idea but not good enough

I like the idea of being able to read MBY at any time, but I found the app to be awkward to use and distracting rather than engaging.

To zoom in on the written section of each article causes the screen to jump around when you want to look at the photo's and occasionally move to a different page.

Not worth the money.

Not working properly

Hi,
I love the content, but the app is just not working properly.
I took the annual subscription paid gbp 34, but every time I open the app, I lose all my previous downloads and subscriptions. I reinstalled the app at least 4 times and now just got enough of it. I asked for reimbursement.
Going back to normal paper edition, what a pity

iPad app

Have a subscription on my I pad - good to have but can need my glasses sometimes !

No surprise.

It's a good app, nothing many don't do,but dropped star due to delay in release of the mags. I get my hard copy before the app updates.
