Has promise, but...

Long time MH player who was excited by the idea of a new take on the game. Love the premise of hunting in the real world. Game has a lot of promise, despite being a bit buggy—lots of closing the app & reopening (yes, I’ve tried uninstalling). However, it needs more missions! I’ve played through all existing ones, and the daily goals are a bit too easy to keep my attention for long.

The minimum requirement to play MouseHunt World is an iphone 6s. If you are playing with a phone that is iPhone 6s and still experiencing this error please check to make sure you have at least 2 GB of RAM (memory, not storage) to download the game. Didn’t have a chance to play

Playing MouseHunt from the early days. It’s a shame this game was not even tested. iPhone 6, iOS 12.x.x. Launch game, log in using Facebook. Wait till graphics loading progress reaches 94.12%. Enjoy.

Have more than 10 GB spare storage. Go much application needs? Anyway, one better check free storage on the device than crash.

Btw, nice guys usually put device limitations into application description as well as into and piece of news they publish. The way TES developers did.

May be you guys need help squeezing your application into iPhone 6? It’s a shame device which is capable to run desktop/console game engine at reasonable speed fails to run mobile application.

Cool concept..execution..meh

Been playing Mouse Hunt for over 5 plus years on and off..First off the use of using real work GPS Map sounds cool..Problem? Your map blows who ever you are using! it doesn't even list a major road expressway here that goes over a bridge! Land marks aren't all there also...have a cemetery near me and it doesn't even list it...had to make my guy walk 12 min away for one. You should be able to play with location service off..This isn't Pokémon Go...

Also you need to zoom in very close to see many of the land marks which make it hard to find and see since it is a small area and I'm playing on iPhone Plus screen..The map HUD needs work.

Starting the game it put me in the Figi Islands when I am in NY..but this may be just for tutorial?.

Last you need some descriptions...Have a mouse and you show the trap it can be caught with but in description it says isolated trap..wth is an isolated trap?

Oh one more thing..the horn is pointless as far as I can see..your traps auto catch based on their timer..so why have horn? Just for an extra catch? Big deal..its not like in mouse hunt we had to hit it every 15 min...I set my cheese on the trap as much as I can afford and log off...

What's with Tower Defense for the portals? Lame! I thought the mice I cought would of been used for some war now on my side...nope. I won't even bother with portals.

My Response - Figi..ok that's what I thought..it was for the tutorial.

Map - Can't use Google? Or not cost effective at this point? OK..I can understand that.

Isolation - Have a pop-up when you tap or hold on the bold description to show what it means. Now that I know this..the mouse I wanted now showed.

OK..up one star

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate your feedback. We use third party map data and therefore we can't control which landmarks and roads appear, so unfortunately we can't address these issues. Everyone starts in the Figi Islands geographical zone so that the tutorial happens the same for everyone with the same landmarks. An isolated trap means that the trap is not in close vicinity to any other trap (~500 meter distance), we agree that this could use a better description and are looking at the best way to include this in the game. The game is centred around mice invading Earth from Gnawnia, it is up to Knights to close these portals through the tower defence game, however if you don't want to engage with the active gameplay you don't need to. Thank you for playing MouseHunt World, we hope you continue to enjoy the game.

Lacks the Charm of the original

Aside from the technical issues I experienced with the game (which were significant), it’s just... boring.

I love the original mousehunt, but this is a weird combination of Pokémon Go, MouseHunt, and a tower defense game. Switching tracks between those vastly different game types is annoying. And the real genius of MouseHunt was the way most of the play goes on in the background. This just doesn’t have that ability to let it go a day if you get busy.

Response from developer

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. MouseHunt World is a distinctly different game from MouseHunt as we didn't want to produce a direct clone. MouseHunt World was designed so that players can play at their own pace. With a balance of active and passive gameplay the game allows players to choose at what pace they want to advance in the game. Thanks for giving MouseHunt World a try :)

Wow

So I hopped on this since I been playing the original MH since 2009. This interface is cool, trapping is very fast ranging from 1m to 1h. Much quicker to get money. Some cool crossovers from the original. No issues with an iPhone 11 Pro Max 512GB. The map usage is awesome allowing us to send squires anywhere in the world! Mini game with tower defense is awesome utilizing caught mice for bonuses. So far so great!

24 Hour edit:

So I'm still trapped playing it, I've progressed decently and enjoy it. However the thing that saddens me about it and makes me change my mind to putting real money into the game is the message in the original MH. "While there are no future plans for Mousehunt World..." This game has SO MUCH potential.

I wish we could see a friend's list and I can finally get my wife to hunt mice with me as I have done for over a decade. I wish we could see a widget to sound the horn, that I can place below my MH1 horn widget. I wish we could see better hints on how to track new mice, as it seems tracking mice doesn't do anything. I wish we could just see more features and changes and watch this game evolve as MH1 has over the years... And many years to come... Two years in the making and it just ends? I'm glad to play this game as it is... But the thought that there will be no end game... It's really sad to be very honest. I hope the devs have a change of heart. I really do.

Good concept...I guess.

Loooooooong time MouseHutner here. Downloaded the MouseHunt World app and worked through the tutorial just fine. Closed the app and reopened later to check my traps, only to find that my horn is ready but I can’t click on it. I mean, I CAN click it and the button itself responds, but the game doesn’t send a reply for the action. Button still says “ready”. Clicking on the map does nothing...unless I spam click it. Then it zooms in and is stuck there until I close and reopen the app. I can click into the shop, the info buttons, trap buttons just fine. But clicking the map, the little helper dudes, horn, or pretty much anything else does a whole lot of nothing.
Here’s to hoping Dave and the boys gets this fixed soon. Seems like a really cool concept...just wish I could see for myself.

Crashes

Crashes at 94.12%, even after update.

Response from developer

This error is most often caused because your phone does not have enough memory to support the game. Please check the available memory on your phone and clear space if required before trying to download the game again :) If this does not resolve the issue please contact us at mhworld@hitgrab.com and we'll investigate further.

Feels clunky

The interfaces don't move from tab to tab very easily. I had to close and restart my game multiple time. Not very fun
