About

Every map can tell you what a place is. None of them can tell you what it's like right now. Moves tells you how busy a cafe, bar or boba shop is this minute, from the people standing in it. A MAP OF WHAT'S ACTIVE A dot only appears when somebody rated, asked or posted about a spot in the last six hours, so you're never reading yesterday. The ring around it tells you the room: green for not busy, amber for busy, red for packed, and blue when people are talking about a place but nobody has rated it yet. Tap any spot for the line, the noise, whether there's wifi, outlets, a restroom or room for a laptop, and what people said about it today. ASK, AND SOMEBODY THERE ANSWERS Wondering if there's a queue at the place you're walking to? Ask. The question goes to people near that spot, and the first one to answer earns points for it. RATE WHAT YOU'RE IN Three taps: how busy, how long the line, how loud. You have to be at the spot to rate it. That's the whole point, and it's why the map is worth trusting. EARN REWARDS Rating a spot earns points. So does answering someone's question, or filling in whether there are outlets. At 100 points you claim a drink or a snack: buy it, send us a photo of the receipt, and we pay you back up to $10 by Venmo or PayPal. No subscriptions. Nothing to buy. No ads. WE WON'T OVERWHELM YOU Three notifications a day, maximum, however many you switch on, and none during quiet hours. Every kind has its own switch. HOUSE RULES Moves is for ages 13 and up. Comments and notes are screened before they post, you can report or mute anything, and we act on reports within 24 hours. Claiming a reward requires you to be 18 or older.

What's New in Moves.

1.1.0

September 22, 2026

Moves is simpler than it was. The last version did two things: finding out the vibes at events you could post, and a group chat around each one. We've taken the chat out and narrowed the app down to the question people were already opening it for at places they already frequent: how busy is that place right now? - A map of cafés, bars and boba shops, where a spot only appears if somebody rated, asked or posted about it in the last six hours - Rate the room in three taps, from inside it: how busy, how long the line, how loud - Ask whether there's a line, and get an answer from somebody standing there - Wifi, outlets, laptops, restrooms and outdoor seating on every spot's page - Points for rating, answering and filling in what you know. 100 points buys a drink or a snack, paid back to your Venmo or PayPal - Never more than three notifications a day, whatever you switch on Events will be back in a later version, built on top of this.
