Movie Tracker User Reviews

Came back. Impressed.

Came back to it. Data was restored. UIX is improved and continues to do so at a very nice clip by developer. Appreciated response to my comments.

Hi there, Thanks for using FlickFocus! I understand your frustration, let me clarify the issues you are having: 1) It is not possible to lose data on FlickFocus. All data is stored on the servers securely and it can only be deleted if you delete your account. Can you share your username? So I can look into this further. This has to be another issue. Maybe you forgot the email you signed up with? Please share more details at support@flickfocus.com 2) We do not collect or track your personal data. We require login for creating lists, rating movies and they are shown in your profile page. We need login for two reasons - for you to be able to access your data on the website as we support that too(flickfocus.com) which helps if you are on a computer/laptop and to be able to view other user profiles and follow them as FlickFocus is a social platform too. 3) FlickFocus was primarily a movie and tv show tracking app. Episode level tracking was just launched in the last update, so bulk editing is not available currently. You can share your feedback on what tracking features you need at support@flickfocus.com. I will add those features in the future update. For bulk editing, I promise to add them in a future update so you can mark multiple episodes as watched at once. Hopefully this clears any questions you had and feel free to contact me on the email or send feedback via the app. I respond to every feedback. Best Regards Mayank Jani Founder, FlickFocus

Better than Trakt, old and new…

…and Letterboxd was terrible from Day 1 so why is anyone surprised? “I was there User, I was there the day the indie apps failed upwards! We all just hate corpo stuff that much!”
FlickFocus is all you need to track your watchlist and ratings. Thats pretty much it, but in the modern world of subscriptions, that function is at least free. Payments are only for fun little extras or just to support the devs.
Their support seems to actually take in user considerations, as 2.0 does fix two of my very few grievances (buttons improved and persistent logo removed) along with a very good UX already, maybe only some named buttons being strange (Director button leads to Crew page, but thats not a big deal, it makes sense to me).

Love to see this! We built this app directly around feedback from people like you, so it’s incredibly rewarding to know we got it right for you. Thanks for helping us improve!

Lost all my data

Within 24 hours lost all of the data I entered. Requires you to create a login for creating any list rather than be able to store data locally despite privacy policy saying they log essentially nothing. If you want to record that you’ve watched half of a season, you must log each episode individually—no bulk select option.

Will probably give it another try later. But first impression was disappointing.

Great app!

Love the app! Really want to stop using IMDB just from the abhorrent amount of ads and lagginess in the iOS app. Only things FlickFocus is missing; Ability to see where movies are available to watch please! Also, rating episodes individually. Keep up the good work! Trying to switch over permanently, will do so as soon as the features I need are available. These features would also make it a 5 star app. KUDOS to the dev for no ads. Remarkable considering the amount of money Apple charges yearly to put apps on the App Store.

Hi there, I have added two new features you requested: 1) Ability to see where movies and tv shows are available to watch. 2) Episode ratings along with a dashboard to track tv shows you are currently watching. Update to the latest version(1.16) to get the new features and let me know any feedback. Thank you!

Great app

This is a great app. One feature I’d love to see is the ability to toggle between lists of movies and grid view of movies.

Response from developer

Thanks for using FlickFocus and sharing your feedback! I definitely agree that a list view could be useful in many scenarios and I will try to add it in the near future.

I really like this app so far

I love movies and shows, and I already have a couple of apps to track them. I just downloaded this today and played around with it a bit. I mainly downloaded for the feature to follow actors and directors, and so far the feature is seamless. You follow a celeb, and there’s a separate page that’s a feed where you can see updates on new or upcoming releases that the person is involved with. Really helpful for me to keep up with my favorites!! A couple of features I’d like to see in the future: 1)ability to hide movies/shows I’m not interested in. 2)have a faster way to mark things I want to watch or have watched with a scroll and a tap. Right now, I have to tap the movie/show and then tap again. 3)have an indicator that a movie/show was watched. Currently there’s no indicator, you’d have to tap on “watch history” to see if you marked it as watched.
Overall, I’d say if you enjoy tracking your media, definitely give this a try!!
