Scammm
$50 / year for a movie rating service for what. This should be free. At most, one standard price of $2.99.
Poor App
Did not make good recommendations for movies or friends. Tiers are not customizable and follow a nonsensical scale. The same movies are constantly listed/suggested rather than uploading new options. If I scrolled past it and hit refresh, refresh all new movies, not just a few. Royal waste of time.
Fun app!
I never write reviews, but I am loving MoviePal. It’s such a fun and easy way to keep track of movies, rank them, and see what my friends are watching. I especially love the DM feature and FYP, it makes discovering movies and sharing recommendations so much more fun. Such a great app!
Wannabe Letterboxd, but you have to pay for it
The title says it. Why would I pay for a subscription to this when a better version exists for free?
Unless you hate star ratings and prefer letters, this is pointless.

Doomed business model
Advertised as a social media matchup engine and AI recommended by pairing you with other movie lovers with similar ratings for movies. Basic economics teaches us that this is network economies of scale—but early adopters are being charged an insane $30/month. Who would pay that except by accident? So you’re not actually going to meet anyone. If 300 million people were on this and it was a real social network rather than just movies, maybe worth it, but not for first adopters. Not even worth the time to try the free trial because your data is deleted the minute your free trial ends.
