Works off and on
I really was hoping this app would be my solution to a replacement for filmic pro and bought Moviepro for the remote function.
Unfortunately the remote function freezes and stops working randomly and often.
Also, whenever I connect to my iphone 13pro that has a rode usb mic attached to it the recording phone goes from usb mic to the poor quality built-in back mic.

Brilliant but unusable
I wasted an afternoon shooting with this app, not realizing that some of the choppiness of the video I saw on the monitor was actually in the recorded video! The concept and the interface are amazing. I want to love this. But if it’s dropping frames, that’s a deal breaker for a video app!
Glitch lowers the FPS
I’ve owned this app for a few years, and it’s worked great up until recently. Now it randomly lowers the frames-per-second of my videos, making them choppy and unusable. I only have this problem when using the remote app - the actual movie pro app works fine alone. I hope this glitch can be fixed so I can monitor my videos with the remote again.

Upside down video
It almost works well, but the fatal flaw is that the video shows up upside down at last half the time. Rotation lock is not on, and I did try turning the device the other way, but the video insists on staying upside down.
It would also be great if there were fewer taps involved in switching to the different remote cameras. As is you have to disconnect, press connect, and wait for the list of discovered cameras on the network, then click on one of those. It would be killer if the discovered cameras could be selected from a drop-down or something.

Doesn’t work after recent update
4/13/23 nothing working now after updating recorder and remote apps.
Works well
Tried it using my old iPhone 6S to remotely control MoviePro on my iPhone 11. Works well. What’s nice is that you can easily disconnect and reconnect, to save on battery power, without interrupting a recording in progress.
Very good but should be on watch
Works well but not everybody is making professional movies with multiple iPhones and iPads on set. Some of us are just shooting simple demos alone with a tripod. This entire app should be on Apple Watch so that I don’t need to take my iPad out with me or invest in a second iPhone.
Remote for I watch
I agree with the previous review, do you need a version of the movie pro remote for the I watch. Also, it would be nice if it could be compatible with selfie remotes. I have a UB size selfie remote, I wanted to use it with MoviePro, and it doesn’t seem to work.
Works randomly
This app would be marvelous if only it worked. Unfortunately this is not the case as the app works only when it wants to and there is no telling when.
My set ups were as follows:
1. iPhone 12 Pro Max loaded with Movie Pro and iPhone 5s loaded with MPRemote. It worked with one or two features disabled. Lag was significant but still acceptable.
2. iPhone 12 Pro Max with Movie Pro and iPhone 12 with MPRemote. Everything worked fine until it stopped working apparently for no reason. After reloading, the apps worked minus manual color correction. The next day they worked fine again until they quit again.
3. iPhone 12 Pro Max with movie Pro and iPhone 6 with MPRemote. This didn’t even start working. We reloaded everything, uninstalled and installed everything again, but to no avail.
In conclusion, the best set up turned out to be two iPhones 12, which is an expensive proposition, but even then a smooth continuous operation cannot be assured. That is really unfortunate because Movie Pro is - at least theoretically - a better app than it’s competition Filmic Pro.

Blown away by iPhone system messages
When IOS displays a system message on the iPhone running the matching camera app, such as a 20% battery warning, this remote app fails. If any other IOS or iPadOS device running this app connects to a network where this app is already being used, that first remote control session is blown away and the camera app it was controlling may crash. The design is simply awful.

Plain and Simple
It does not work.
MPRemote crashes
MPRemote crashes when setting manual shutter speed. After opening the remote again it connects to a black screen unusable. The user has to go back to the camera to reset. This renders the remote rather useless.
Buggy...
Constantly crashing and freezing when changing settings, usually when changing resolutions and frame rates. Also, it will let me use 2 of the 3 lenses in the iPhone pro, but wont let me use the Ultrawide lens.

Not live but over 30 second delay
Really disappointing. Touching the reticles seem to have no effect so I can’t control what is in focus and the feed is not live. I’ve found it to be delayed by as much as a minute so it’s not helpful at all. I just saw that an update is coming soon I really hope so, otherwise I’ll bite the bullet and pay for Filmic Pro.

This problem has been fixed in latest versions of MoviePro app and remote. Please update and let us know if it works.
It was awesome for a while...
But for some reason now the connection of the remote app is so laggy it’s basically unusable. Picture freezes, input is badly delayed. Devices are on latest software and app versions, plugged in to power, and 6 inches apart.
Needs Watch app!
I would live to see this as an app for the Apple watch. Until then, using moviepro doesn’t really work out for me. I record music jam sessions and need a way to be able to quickly stop and start recording from wherever I’m at.
Working great. Much appreciated. But where’s the trigger for still photos?
Running MP on iPhone 8+ and Remote on SE. Love the freedom it gives me to shoot video as one man crew.
I do wish:
1. The Remote could trigger the still photo option that’s within the camera app.
2. The the stills within the app had a TIFF or RAW quality setting.
Those features would save me a lot of time and keep me in the MoviePro universe longer.

Not Usable
The remote freezes whether in the middle of recording or even in standby mode. It also out of sync even with fast wifi connection. Using iphone x and 7+ so I don't think the phone speed is the problem.
