Clapper Sound Levels
This is a superb app when you consider all the features. My only niggle is a basic one. Is there any way of upping the sound level of the clapper? I have the volume on the pad set to max and it still sounds pretty anaemic from any distance. The mics pick it up of course, but louder would be helpful.

Not Bad
The app is really not that bad and has a good variety of customizable items. However, I have had this app for a long time and still can’t figure out how to actually send any report. There are no tutorials for it, there is no way to get in touch with the developer (no support options), and the FAQ doesn’t even mention it.

To send reports, tap on the History tab, select a project, then tap the share button (looks like a box with an upward pointing arrow), then choose a report type. If you always use a single report type, tap on the Settings tab, then History Reports, then Report Types to choose your regular report type. Our website has many video tutorials, and they are also available on the app's Help tab, along with a "Contact Us" button you can use to communicate directly with us.
So far not impressed
I had previous version and I was forced to rebuy. No noticable improvements stand out to me. I had a horrible experiance out of the gate, was not aware you have to be an Apple Music user just to use the software (doesn't inform you, just hangs on loading).
If they were to improve the software, make it work better on phones, the text is so small that my camera can barely see it, so the slate info is essentially useless.

Hi Soaceman622. Make sure you've enabled access to music from the Settings app > MovieSlate > Media & Apple Music. Please email us (from MovieSlate's Help screen) if you're still having problems. Hang in there; we'll get this sorted out for you.
Works Good for me and my clients
I’m not buying any more marker boards slates since using this. I have the iPad Air 2 in a Melamount case and it serves our purposes on film shoots. No more looking for the marker, eraser, and trying to remove old marks on a clapper. I just wish they sold a wood clapper for the iPad to slide into for the real wood clap sound (not a big deal).

MovieSlate is an indispensable tool that fits my needs for a simple and proper way to slate, log, and sync. I use it in conjunction with Atomos (Timecode Systems) Ultrasync One and Ultrasync Blue and various iPads and iPhones. Be sure to use it with their KeyClips app.

Acho de grande importância a comunicação de quem faz o uso da ferramenta com quem “produz” a ferramenta. A usabilidade tem particularidades específicas que nem sempre chegam ao criador.
Muitas foram as melhorarias deste App, mas muitas ainda faltam melhorar…
Primeiramente vou pontuar aqui o que observei de mudança que não é bom:
1 - Anteriormente era possível colocar as cenas em ordem numérica para exportação. Com a atualização isso não é mais possível. Muitas vezes a pós produção pede para que o envio seja na ordem das cenas e não na ordem de filmagem.
2- Ainda não existe uma “lixeira” para casos de arquivos deletados que possam ser “recuperados” . Isso é importante principalmente para quem ainda está conhecendo a ferramenta. É possível a pessoa errar e deletar um arquivo definitivamente.
Sobre manual e explicações em vídeos:
1 - Os vídeos explicando o uso da ferramenta não contém tudo. Deveriam fazer versão com possibilidade de tradução, principalmente sobre o Script Dept. Esta talvez seja uma barreira para a absorção deste serviço.
Eu aqui no Brasil divulguei bastante o movie&slate. Fui uma das primeiras scriptsupervisors que fez uso . Como também ministro curso de formação de scriptsupervisors , a divulgação acabou sendo ampla. Chamo a atenção para a relação custo- benefício do App. O valor para a realidade financeira no Brasil é excelente comparado a outros Apps europeus que surgiram posteriormente.
2 - A quebra de cenas no Roteiro no Scrip Dept ainda é um problema. Nem sempre o App reconhece , fazendo com que assim a numeração fique errada , ligando diretamente uma cena a outra sem quebra. Isso tem que melhorar.
3 - Ainda no Scriptsupervisors não existe a exportação de anotações e marcações feitas no roteiro para outras versões de Roteiro que são importadas. Isso é muito importante para quando já está sendo preparado o projeto e ocorrem mudanças no roteiro.
* Vale verificar algumas facilidades que já existem em Apps como o “Synconset” e o “Scriptation” *
4 - Sobre as fotos tiradas, se não quero exportá-las no relatório, mesmo eu desabilitando a exportação de fotos, quando envio o relatório fica visível o link da foto. Isso é ruim. Deixa o relatório com uma informação que não deveria aparecer. Se desabilito a visualização da foto, o link do local onde ela está não poderia aparecer no relatório.
*O QUE NÃO EXISTE EM NENHUM APP:
A visualização de todo o projeto como um mapa , uma planilha, em que fique visível as passagens de tempo ( dias cênicos), Sets, números de roupas e todas as infos por ítens, de modo que listas independentes possam também ser visualizadas e também exportadas. Ex: lista de roupas por personagem, carros de cena, objetos, tal qual o programa “Movie magic scheduling” faz. Um banco de dados bem inteligente.
Costumo montar este “Mapa” no planilhas do Google.
Em relação ao que melhorou:
1 - Exportação em xml veio somar, muito bom para pós Production. Se conecta com app usado pelos Loggers.
2 - O sincronismo do TC agora se conectando a outros Apps de ingestão de TC, isso ajuda bastante. Antes era muito falho e difícil de sincronizar.
3 - A comunicado de equipe. Apesar de que, seria interessante ter um banco de dados e o funcionamento como um sistema mesmo, conforme citei aí em cima que já existe em outros Apps.
Para a produção de seriados, em que temos de alimentar muitas informações para equipes como Figurino, MAKE UP, Direção, Produção, Arte, etc, isso seria uma grande evolução .
Espero ter ajudado e aguardo melhorias.

Stellar tool for set
I have been using MovieSlate since 2009 and watched it grow into an indispensable production tool. The shot logs are easy to parse and send to my editor, the app is amazingly customizable, and it saves me a lot of $ since I don’t need to buy an expensive slate. The best part? The developer is incredibly responsive to feedback and suggestions. Recently I inquired about adding a tail slate option to the app, and within a week the developer had implemented the feature! In short, this is a stellar app that continues to get BETTER with each version. 5 stars.

Perfection got even better
I am a small company and freelancer. This app is perfect. It is always with me, and is WAY more capable than my needs, but it fits the bill perfectly in its simplicity. Watching the videos from Movie Slate (there are quite a few bite size videos covering everything in simple but comprehensive detail) showed me just how robust this app is. I was upset that the older version does not work on my newer iPhones and iPad, necessitating an upgrade and another payment, but the truth is it is such a sweet price point, and the app is so helpful, I did not mind paying again. I work on a lot of very small productions, this app makes me look pretty pro if they do not have a slate on set already. On my own projects it just saves time in post, especially if I am working with multiple cameras or with scripts and other moving parts.

No TC tone
Try as I might, I have not been able to figure out how to get the TC signal to be audible so I can jam sync other devices…even though I have paid the premium. The makers maintain it’s easy but while not a Luddite, it just ain’t happening. Very disappointed in their support.

This app is by far the best script supervision app or software out there, and trust me I'm tried them all. The script lining interface alone is worth the monthly subscription. Additionally, there are tons of setting options to adapt the program to your individual needs, and the customer service is top notch!! You DON’T need access to my contacts!!!
Recent update includes a reoccurring pop up message stating that it needs access to my contacts. No, no you don’t. At least not if I don’t want you to. Make it a one time pop up and allow me to change it if I want it to access contacts later.
I spent $30 on this stupid app and in return it slows down production by interfering during the EXACT time I need it: in front of the camera while trying to start the shop.

Great App but expensive to upgrade to the pro version
The app would worth 5 star if it was cheaper or if they included the external timecode sync!
I bought the App to sync tentacle time code with it, but surprisingly, the external time code sync fonction wasn’t unlocked for the standard version that cost $49. You have to pay a $15 monthly subscription to be able to use the external time code on the top of $49 upfront or spend $499 + $49 if you don’t want to pay a subscription.
It’s very expensive for an app that I can’t sell ! It works great though!
I might use it for a few months and might buy a digital slate that will have a value if I need to sell it!

You have one job
What is the point of an app that hides it main feature. I started the app and I’m stuck in the settings... how hard is designing an interface that is intuitive enough to navigate and use the one thing you want it to do.
