Changed my life

Loads of information that, when applied, will completely change your financial life. Such a great resource!!

Education

My family was very very poor and had no financial education and yet they were able to scrap and save. I learned many wonderful things from my parents. Love, giving and hard work. But it was their devotion that caused me to work harder and save more. As a testimony to their great parenting I have vowed to pass the financial education along to my three daughters.
Thank you for furthering my education.

“Read” tag

Love this blog, but t seems like every time there is an app update all of the articles that are marked “read” are cleared out. Sometimes I go months between reading and it’s frustrating to not be able to come back and know where I stopped.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry that you lost your articles marked "read" after updating the app. We believe this issue was resolved in the latest version. The conversion to forums authentication was more challenging than we anticipated. We recently added “Mark Articles Read Until Date” feature (top right 3 dots menu > Mark read) to quickly mark articles "read".

Great content!

Easy to use with great content!

Update resets app

Update lost track of read/unread. This is not the first time either, very frustrating. Love the content though, thinking of just reading on the blog website itself to keep track ofmwhere I'm at, there's a lot of content to get through.

Good app, lost some functionality

The latest update cleared out which articles I had already read, and now it doesn’t stay at the last article I read so I need to scroll from the beginning every time I open the app.

Update has removed my read count

Update has unread all read articles so I need to work out where I had gotten to. Not to mention ads are creeping further and further in. Should have stuck with the laptop and a sticky note.

Recent update

Been enjoying re reading all the MMM blog posts. Thanks for putting this App together. Unfortunately this most recent App update cleared out all the blog posts I marked as Favorites and it lost track of all the articles I had re read. Now I have to scroll down to 2015 to keep reading where I left off.

Glad to hear you enjoy reading the blog posts in this app. We are sorry you lost your read/unread posts with the latest update. Please email feedback@mrmoneymustacheapp.com and we will try our best to troubleshoot this issue.

Top content but last update effed it up

The content is 5 star, but the last update leaves you with every post unread, so you don’t know what posts you starred and what was read. Frustrating. Login doesn’t work as well, no option to reset the password. Sad, as the content is top notch.

UK MMM Fan 🇬🇧

MMM is getting a strong following in the U.K. 🇬🇧. Love this app !

One of best financial education app

Thank you so much for this wonderful app. I learned lot about personal finance, investment, how to be fit healthy and live happily.

Love it

In addition to MMM posts the app gives you financial independence calculator as well as advice on how to cut your spending. You can specify your current and targeted expenses by category. Every article is absolutely great! Love it!

Love the app. Would love one extra feature..

It would be great to have a feature where we can highlight phrases and our “notes” that have been highlighted are out in a special place within the app. Some things have really resonated with me and I want to be able to read those words specifically as reminders instead of having to read an entire post again. If that would be possible, I would be so excited. So far, I’ve been highlighting within the app, and posting to “notes” on my phone, but even trying to highlight or “select” on my phone is difficult through the app because the selected words do not show as highlighted in grey or whatever like they would be when selecting text on a regular webpage. Thanks everyone!

Thank you for your 5 star review and new feature suggestion! :)

The most helpful app ever

One cannot describe how helpful Mr Money Mustache’s articles are and having an app to read them wherever you go is even better. I’d highly recommend the premium upgrade so that you can listen while working out, riding or enjoying any other activity!

So happy

I've been working my way through the blog for months now, starting with post #1 and everytime I wanted to save an article, I'd save it in a separate browser tab. It was ridiculous. So happy to have this app now! I can close all my excess browser tabs! 😂

Thank you for your review! :) Glad to hear you that you like how the app keeps track of the articles you have read. Check out the Savings Accelerator if you get chance!

Best Motivational/Retirement/Spending App

Way more than I was expecting. I was expecting to be able to read the blog and a couple simple FI related calculators. No this exceeded my expectations! You can read the blog. But much more importantly and valuable is the calculator inside the app. It will make finding the holes in your budget easy. With links to related article by several of the Top FI bloggers for each category. See how you compare with an average family of similar size or Pete’s. Thanks MMM! Oh and I rarely write a review. So it’s that good. You need this app!

Thank you so much for your excellent review! :) Your review made our day and we are happy the app exceeds your expectations! We built the Savings Accelerator based on our own journey and are so glad you find it useful! We look forward to adding more features beyond the blog reader in the near future! :)

Excellent tools help you learn the MMM way

The MMM site is a treasure trove of sound advice on habits to navigate the pitfalls of a consumerist society that would have us buy things we don’t need, with money we don’t have. However, it can be hard to take it all in which is why this app, with the recent addition of two tools to guide you through each step (paired with related articles) is so darn excellent.

I’ve always recommended MMM to anyone questioning the status quo but the tools in this app make this the better/more practical option. While it is US centric the general principles are applicable anywhere so share this app instead of another meme and be remembered as the friend that introduced Mr Money Moustache

Great app, some ads are antithetical to MMM philosophies

Edit:
Thanks for the thoughtful response. Knowing the background about this app certainly changes how I feel about it, I'm editing my review. I honestly think it's a very well developed app and got a lot of value from it the past couple months. It might be worth it for other readers to see your comments somewhere in the app. Would love to see it maintained for a long time.

---

I had this app at 5 stars but with the addition of the ads it really brings the credibility of the content down. I will just quote an article and its accompanying ad:

"car spending is the first and foremost thing standing between the struggling masses and Mustachian Freedom and Riches. That means YOU!"

Ad directly underneath:
Only 2 Days left, Tap for offers - Toyota

There is a paid version with no ads but again it feels contradictory to spend $10/year on an app after I biked through the rain by MMM's suggestion to save $1.50 in gas, and finished reading "A millionaire is made Ten Bucks at a time"

I really preferred the previous model where MMM provides links to things he supports (like the low flow shower head, which I bought)

Edit: Thank you so much for your support! Your response literally brought tears to our eyes and made our day :) --- Thank you for sharing your response to our recent changes. We understand your concerns over the addition of ads as we certainly struggled with the decision to introduce them into the app. However, we tried for over a year to support the app on affiliate income and contributions and simply were losing money. As husband and wife developers our hope is to at least break even. MMM himself is also losing money on the app as the use of his affiliate links via the app are significantly less than what readers typically use on his website. We built the app as a passion project and hope to continue supporting it for years to come. We want to keep it free so that it can be used by those still in the early stages of FI, and we want the free version to have all the essential features needed to learn about the movement and quickly make progress toward financial independence. For those who are further along the journey we offer a supporter option that provides a few extra perks in the app but nothing that is 100% required. We agree with your concern over the juxtaposition of the Toyota ad next to articles about spending less on cars. Since we are utilizing personalized advertising everyone will see different ads similar to what you would see on most other websites or apps you would use. We have already blocked a large number of advertising categories that we felt were inappropriate. While we would like to block just "new" cars we believe hybrids and used cars fit within the MMM philosophy. We will continue considering this category and whether to block ads from cars as a whole. We really appreciate that you took the time to share your concerns.

Once a blessing, now an abomination

With the recent addition of monetization (advertising at the bottom of each page), this app has become a sad and ironic rejection of all that the blog itself stands for. Horrible. As a self-identified Mustachian, I truly hate to see this.

MMM is full of great ideas and betterment

Great blog and lifestyle advice. These brief articles will teach you to live below your means and entertain you at the same time.
